Richmond to rename goal ends at the 'G after two Tiger favouritesCaro Wilson

April 1 2022In a tribute to its two leading goalkicking champions of the 21st century, Richmond for its home matches will rename the goal ends at the M.C.G. after Tiger legend Matthew Richardson and current triple premiership star Jack Riewoldt.
The Punt Road end of the stadium will be renamed the "Richo End" while the City end will be renamed the "Jack Riewoldt End".
Richmond president Peggy O'Neal said the announcement will be formally made prior to the Tigers next home game against the Western Bulldogs on April 9.
It is expected both Richardson and Riewoldt will take part in the pre-match unveiling of each respective sign named after them.
"It's important that we recognise not only two champions of the club but also two wonderful servants that have contributed so much both on and off field," O'Neal said.
"We also want to provide our members and supporters with even more a sense that the M.C.G. is our home ground."
The Tigers first face St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Sunday with Riewoldt in doubt after suffering a fresh setback in his quest to return from a broken thumb. The star forward has a skin infection in the hand that required surgery and must prove his fitness to play at today's main training session at the Swinburne Centre.
