Vlas in for sure

Miller might be the unlucky one to go out.

Or Gibcus might get a rest

RICHMOND star defender Nick Vlastuin is in line to return this week from the hamstring injury that has hindered his season.

Vlastuin wouldn't risk him interstate give him half a game in the vfl get up to scratch.

Don't see any changes this week. Lambert will need to play a full VFL game to build up his match fitness and see if his body can get through a full game. And as others have said Floss will also need a run in the ressies as he hasn't played in a long while.

IN:

Vlastuin

OUT:

Ralphsmith (unlucky)

Like you wouldn’t want to play Vlastuin if 100%

Edwards is on the edge.

Unlucky Hugo.

I was thinking this too. It’s unlucky but if vlas returns then I’d say one of Miller or Hugo needs to come out otherwise we are running too many defenders. Tarrant, Miller, Gibcus, Broad, Vlas, Short, Rioli, Hugo. They could ofcourse move Hugo fwd to see if he can offer more than Parker/Castagna.

Off to SA next week.

Out:
Cotchin (rest)
Edwards (rest/omit)
Ross

In:
RCD
Sonsie
Clarke (sub)
Sonsie I can understand and I even thought Brown looked to be our most composed player all game but you still want to give RCD a game when though he struggles to win ball in the Magoos?

…. Meanwhile, Lambert shows how easy life was there and played less than 2 quarters and was on 50% acceleration as if he was on a lazy afternoon stroll.  :rollin

Tig,

I'd like Lambert to get through a full game. He's coming off a nasty hip injury and is no spring chicken.

RCD is fully fit and I'd like to play him so we can decide if he's worth keeping after this year. I also think he could play medium forward also. But yes his lower numbers aren't encouraging. I'd rather cut him loose after a handful of dud games this year than keep him on the list hoping he makes it next year etc.

Wasn’t suggesting get lambert in yet just using him as an example on how easy the reserve league is when your an AFL player.
I wouldn’t give anyone a game unless they warranted selection at VFL level. We tried that sort of crap for 30 years and all it did was help us breed a mediocre culture that couldn’t achieve anything higher than 9th.

They only should give players a go that want it and deserve it and earn the right to wear the jumper.

I think he was quite serviceable at AFL level with his game time.

You wanna cut him loose?

I wouldn’t be moving our best rebounding defender and I think the ship has sailed on Rioli as a fwd other than maybe in short stints to try and snag a goal. Hugo on the other hand is still inexperienced, still unsure at this stage where his best position will end up being. It could end up being in defence but I don’t think we’re anywhere near that stage where that’s locked in yet.
