I currently have a Pet problem  ;D

My brother in law decided on the weekend that it would be a great idea to buy my kids who are aged 2 & 3 a pari of guinea pigs.

After 2 days i am doing my head in having these little critters in the house. He bought a little cage for them, but its only an indoor one and obviously its too cold for them outside in that at the moment.

My kids have hardly shown any interest in them, besides being excited about them for the first 10 mins and now have pretty much become my pets to look after. I am not in the least bit interested in looking after these little furry animals. I have told my wife tonight that i am ready to get rid of them and let someone who wants them take them.

Is it too rude to get rid of something like this that was a present? I think it is rude to give someone like this, especially as there is an ongoing commitment to the bloody things which i dont want!

Thoughts please  :help

They ran out the back door and were last seen on the princess highway heading for Skilled Stadium. ;)

My uncle used to take kittens to Albert Park Lake  ;)
Umm, don't suggest that, Bully.
Maybe honesty the best policy - say the kids were cruel to them, pulling their ears and tails, whatever.

Don't you just love your rellies :rollin

Why would you give a 2 and 3 year old pets to look after?! At that age they can't even look after themselves ??? I agree Bully your brother-in-law should have asked you before buying them if they were an appropriate present. If you don't want to look after them Bully better off giving them away for free to a family who does.

Alternatively Geelong might trade Brad Ottens for them ;D.

Silly me 632 ;D.

I forget the 2 guinea pigs only cost a few hundred bucks a year to keep compared to $500,000 a year lol.

Guinea pigs are rather useless aren't they?  Yes, the brother-in-law should have asked first.  I'd take them to a pet shop or put an ad in the paper.

Forgot to mention that the guinea pigs found their way back to my local pet shop last week.

I go there regularly to bug food for my turtle and he gave me $20 worth of free food for the 2 guinea pigs.

I am totally happy with that outcome and the kids dont even realise they are gone  :thumbsup

Do you have to have a licence for the turtle?  Much more interesting than guinea pigs.
