Changes for the Port game?
« on: May 28, 2022, 12:27:01 AM »
Question mark on Cotch after his collision but the bye comes at a good time if he did have any concussion issue.

Balta, Pickett and maybe Lambert (depending on his hip issue) available.

Fire away with you changes?

Note: Dimma said during the week Lynch would also miss the Port match and won't be back until the Carlton game.

A question for everyone.

If Balta is fit - does he come in and play forward to fill in for Lynch or does he return to the backline and we give Gibcus another go up front as Dimma did in the last quarter against the Swans?

2nd option for me

If Dixon is playing then Balta has to and will play back.  At the MCG you need a 2nd forward and Soldo ain't it so no other choice but to play Gibcus as a mobile CHF hitting up the wings to give our backs a target.  Riewoldt needs to play deep forward as he loses too many one on one contests now.

I'd actually consider Tarrant for Dixon tbh. Mature body.

Same for me. Balta must play back and try Gibcus again up forward. Young fella has the tricks to cause some issues for the opposition.

In: Balta, Pickett, Lambert (if fit)

Out: Castagna, Ross, Cumberland (not used sub).

Gibcus moved forward so we structure up with two actual & mobile tall forwards.

B:    Grimes        Tarrant       Vlastuin

HB:   D.Rioli         Balta          Baker

C:     Pickett         Short        McIntosh

HF:   Edwards       Gibcus        Bolton

F:     Martin         Riewoldt       M.Rioli

R:   Nankervis      Prestia         Cotchin

Int:  Soldo     Broad    Graham      Lambert

Sub: Ralphsmith
