Summary:
* Melbourne's predicament reminds Dimma of us in 2018. We had a lot in the bank but there were aspects of our game that weren't up the level we expected. Ours though came later on in that season so we didn't get time to rectify it. If there's a positive spin for Goody is theirs is occurring at the midpoint of the season. Also it's June so it's winter and the conditions are dewy. So games can become more a slog and low scoring rather than skilled.
* The game evolves every 4-5 weeks with a new trend or someone trying something new against you. For example earlier in the year our connection inside 50 was really good but our defensive side suffered. So we had to readjust. There's a fine balance between both sides of the game and sometimes they can become out of whack.
* Dusty doubtful [see Dusty thread].
* Spoke about Vlastuin [see Vlastuin thread].
* Carlton's back half game and scores from defensive half have really improved. The ability to move the ball and the scores they've generated from that. Earlier in the year virtually all their scores came from clearances but that scoring has come down while their scores from the back half has really improved. The Blues control the ball by foot very well. Got good composure and just take what's in front of them. Their gamestyle is varied week to week and depends on who their opposition is. Voss has got them in a good place and it's going to be a great contest.
* Crowd of 21k felt louder than that but was a little bit surprised. However, people are still becoming accustomed to Thursday night footy plus it's cold and it was school night. 7.20pm start is a little bit earlier. 7.50pm starts he is almost asleep by half-time.
* Jack Riewoldt has had a really good year. Had two broken fingers with one just hanging on. He's got to wear a glove. He missed a goal in the first half and threw it off. Doc told Dimma to tell Jack to put the glove back on. Dimma replied why ask me? Jack is like an 8 year old child lol. Robbo and Goodwin said Jack should go on another year.
