Season over probably but for arguments sake we would play two of Miller, Balta and Gibcus forward.

Backs would be Grimes, Tarrant and one of those 3.

Personally I don't think our recruiting is amazing if you take 3 kids I think it's expected that at least 1 makes it every year. Dow to date and RCD recently quite disappointing.

Also agree with Andy, we have Balta and Miller who can both play forward

Although I'm disappointed we didn't take a big forward we can't just select one for the sake of it. Could you imagine the outrage on here if we did?

Hardly likely that any 18 year old key position draftee in taken by us in this year's draft, especially 3rd round selections, would be able to come in and cover for either Riewoldt or Lynch in 2023

Would need a mature age KPP recruit in today's draft to be of any help next year

The reality is that any KP players worth taking were gone already before our picks so they took best available. I suspect we will select one today during the rookie draft.

The reality is clubs were prepared to trade late picks in preparation for acadamy and f/s selections next year.
Disappointed we did not try to trade for an earlier pick to get a crack at Lemmy or Scully when they were both still there in the 40's.
People do realise unlike smalls talls take time to develop.

In saying that im happy with the Smith selection but a bit bemused we did not do more to get a kpf or two into our system.

‘Bidney’: Tigers cheeky sledge to Swans after bidding frenzy shook up draft

Richmond has cheekily labelled Sydney ‘Bidney’ after the Swans shook up the 2022 AFL draft with several bids on prospects to disrupt the plans of rival clubs.

Sydney’s polarising moves became a key talking point out of the draft, with the Tigers, regular bidders themselves, acknowledging the scheming.

“Now we’ve handed the mantle to ‘Bidney’, so it’s good they’ve got that job now,” Richmond recruiter Matthew Clarke said, per the Herald Sun.

RICHMOND

Picks (at start of the draft): 53, 62, 76, 82

Selections: Kaleb Smith (49), Steely Green (55)

Pounced on a couple of WA-based sliders who should suit the Richmond style. Smith, a speedy small defender-midfielder who’s been compared to Adam Saad, had been linked to the Eagles and Dockers in the second round, so the Tigers were more than happy to pounce late on night two. Green, too, had second-round interest, but the hard-working on-baller landed at Richmond and should fit into Damien Hardwick’s system with aplomb.

Grade: B-

Scully was available with our first pick, it was lemmey and keeler who were taken just before us so we never got a chance with them.

I never have and probably never will follow the draft close enough to say we should have gone X and Y players over the ones we picked, especially for picks as late as the ones we had. Just from a list perspective they don’t seem to fill an obvious need like a key forward would have. It just goes back to drafting on talent over need, if those are the best players in the recruiters eyes available at our picks then so be it. Like someone said above there’s no point drafting players just because they are tall and have played forward in their junior careers.

In any case, good luck to the 2 boys selected - I hope they go on to have great careers at the RFC!
