You know what makes it worse. North got out to a 5-6 goal lead, we came back and actually managed to get in front and they were still good enough to win the game. If the roles were reversed (like they have been many times this season) we still lose that game.

Something wrong when a team full of majority of 2-3 time premiership players can’t handle the pressure of being in close games in the H&A season after playing in so many cut-throat finals.

Jack Graham that is, captain.

I was baffled he wasn't when we went dual. It's a mistake and needs changing. Kicked a clutch goal at end when everyone was missing. Was brilliant in 2017 GF. The 2018 prelim is legendary and when he plays well we get really win.

Needs to be captain next year imho.
I agree. I'd be changing the captains. Hasn't worked. Quirky decision that felt off at the time and has proved to be so.

For a long time I thought Vlastuin was captain in waiting, but he was caught up in the Mabior Chol anus fingering thing--he seems like a bit of a goofer--and with suspensions like those against West Coast he's just not captain material.

They used to say we needed leaders all over the ground--and they're right--but it doesn't mean everyone is captain's material. Nank is a battler type player deep down. Cotchin was pick 2 and a Brownlow medalist before we were good. Even Grimes started life as a battler. Let them and Riewoldt and Vlastuin etc be leaders in their respective lines, but you need someone of solid character and exemplary behaviour who is going to get picked every week as captain I reckon. Graham fits that bill for me. Good age bracket too. (As long as he doesn't turn into our Selwood.)

Sonsie had 19 possies. Thats a good start for the kid.

Sam Banks had 20 again in the twos and
Brown had 24 and hes starting to really show good signs too.

Geez

Nank and Grimes certainly aren't doing a marvellous job but Graham, at times, has been lucky to make the 22.

Reality is the only person fit to be captain is our previous captain

We have lost the ability to kill games. Our composure is non existent by our ageing stars. Grimes defensive efforts lately are a clear example of where we sit…average at best. His lack of positioning to allow that late goal was under 10 stuff. Nanks positioning in the ruck contest was just as bad. Vlastuin doesn’t play tight enough and is undisciplined. The list could go on….
Yes Aarts stuffed up but seriously, as a group we are a shell of the past.
Play for the future as we don’t have the list to win the flag.

We keep saying it weekly undisciplined , missed chances , poor skills or fade outs none has been rectified. Today was a different level lazy , intensity and poor leadership were was the fight and hunger from the last 2 weeks or pressure and tackling gone backwards after cats game.

Our senior group besides a few have showed lack of leadership no composure or experience for 3 time premiership players alot we're quick to jump on George and Aarts they a not up to it 100% , but it's a team issue complete waste of season from going to push for top 4 2 games ago to this now.

As for Dimma has to fall on him ultimately and take responsibility , but let me say players have a big part.Jack for me doesn't get another contract been selfish and trying to do to much.

Ain't this the sad truth. Stuff me I said we look better with him out there and we do. He's the only real leader we have. The rest are all crap

Yes that's what happens when he gets dumped at HF for reasons that no one's been able to explain

Some truly bizarre match ups and positional moves tonight
