Could realistically cut them all tbh or at least 8/10

Clarke is a good player and his body has held up for the few games he has gotten. I think a 1 year deal or putting him on the rookie list is the way to go.

Burton too soon to tell. Only giving him 1 year from his draft year would be very harsh imo so another 1 year deal would be the way to go.

I’d cut the bottom 7. If you read between the obvious lines, Fawcett will be gone too which makes it 8. Do I realistically think they will move on 8 players + the 2 retirees? Not a chance. I think we need to prepare ourselves for the likes of HRS and Steely getting new deals.

If it was up to me...

Keep:
Fawcett

50-50
OHB (depending on if we trade in a ruck/find a way to remove Ryan)
Burton 1yr deal
Clarke 1yr deal

Cut:
Green
HRS
MRJ
Smith
Tyler Sonsie
James Trezise

I cannot fathom why they are not playing Fawcett.

Club haven't done much wrong for a long time.

Can just see a number of little things wrong creep in over last 2-3 years. Maybe Post Benny G, but delisted Fawcett seems stupid. Our 2 gun KP forwards are injury prone. I doubt we will be drafted another KF this year. Did we trial Fawcett down back where we seem to not be getting any stronger. We give Samson Ryan about 7 years to make it but don't offer Fawcett half that, especially considering his first year was ruined by injury/sickness.

Just a strange one.

There is definitely reasons we aren’t privy to

I would have delisted Lynch, Gibcus even though they are both contracted

They put all this energy into drafting Fawcett and Smith then don’t give them a go. We are meant to develop players

Playing Prestia was stupid when he is leaving

What gripes me is the delusional team selections each week and a game style as inspirational as a rock.

We are so far off it to believe anything else is drinking your own bath water

Don’t mind them delisting smith but what was the purpose of giving him a 1year extension last year if they had no intention of playing him. We barely had enough players to field a side this year and he still couldn’t muster 1 game.

What were you going to replace him with.

Our last spot was between a kid ruck with 1% chance of making it and respectfully burton who is very low ceiling.

I didn't like smith but them thinking he might kick on isn't that far fetched at the time.

Plenty of teams keep list spots available going into the season. Just because we are allowed a certain number of spots, doesn’t mean we need to use them. If they didn’t contract smith they may have used another pick in the MSD if they saw anyone worthwhile although tbf they could have done that by putting any other of the numerous injured players on the LTI with Gibcus.

I just call bs on them thinking he may kick on. They legit played every single player on the list ahead of him, veterans/cubs/rookies, even our SSP player. Smith was racking it up in the VFL and while a lot of them may have been junk possessions in the back half, it was still bizarre that he wasn’t afforded a single solitary game.
