If it’s only Gibcus then horrible wording.

“The 23-year-old is heading to the University of Oregon to work with renowned strength and conditioning coach Jim Radcliffe, along with Mykelti Lefau and Judson Clarke, who trained there in May.”

Or it could mean that Lefau & Juddy are going too, or Lefau is going but Juddy isn't or it could not!!!!

It is a bit confusing isn't it.

They’ve mentioned in the article on the clubs website that juddy clarke is heading to the states with Gibbo. Do we take that to mean that he’s signed or will sign a new contract for next season? Be strange to send him to the states on the clubs coin if he’s not gonna be listed next season.

Idk if they have written it poorly.

Trying to say , Mykelti Lefau and Clarke went there previously.

But I don't think Lefau went previously

And if you read the entire article it clearly says Clarke is going with Gibcus

So I've taken the article to mena all 3 are heading to the US

Burton 1 year
Clarke de-list +/& rookie
Green de-list +/- rookie for me
OHB I would keep at this stage for structure in the VFL
HRS de-list
MRJ de-list

So we now have picks Richmond picks 2, 5, 22 (compo after Essendon bid on Cochrane), 42 & 97.

Realistically we will certainly be drafting in 3 players, probably 4 and unlikely 5.

So let’s go with 4 for the purpose of analysing where our list sits as it stands.

From what I can gather our list breakdown sits like this including the out of contract but not yet delisted players. I have included OHB on the primary list as he can’t stay on the Cat B list after 3 years, he could in theory be delisted and redrafted as a rookie A but let’s just say he’s on the primary list for now.

Primary: 36 + 4 from national draft = 40
Rookie A: 1
Rookie B: 1

So we will need to delist at a minimum 2 of Clarke, Green, OHB, HRS and MRJ so we sit at the max. Primary list number of 38.

This would leave us with a core list (primary + rookie A) size of 39 and still give us flexibility to add 3 more players in the rookie/SSP/mid-season as you can have a total of 42. We’d also be able to add another 1 cat B rookie to go with Carr to bring our total overall list size to the max. of 44.

Would be a very disappointing if we don't use 42 imo

They almost certainly will be unless they receive a strong trade offer.

So who are the 2 being delisted?

If they are drafting HVH then OHB’s papers are stamped and I think Green is the other.

I’d personally rather see HRS and MRJ let go as they’ve had 5-6 years in the system and I think we have enough cover in their positions. Personally I wouldn’t mind delisting all 4 and just going into the season with less players on the list.

Wouldn't mind keeping judson clarke.

Strikes me as potential decent wing / back / fwd depth

Yeah the 4 I was talking about were HRS, MRJ, OHB and Green.

Realistically I doubt they go in with anything other than the max primary list size so only 2 will get the chop. Still gives them list space to add rookies in rookie draft/ssp/mid season draft.

Add Burton to the conversation then who I think is the 6th and final out of contract.

Yeah I don’t include him as it’s the primary list we are over the limit of. So we need to cut 2 of the 5 of the others.
