The thing that is apparent is that we have a lot of players on our list that we, and nobody else, wants.

Steely Green & OHB delisted.
Excellent decision by the club.  Thanks to both players but clearly not up to it.

Does anyone know how many list places we now have?

Agree with the recent delistings - Green perhaps a little unlucky that he got cut before the likes of HRS .
Glad we ripped the bandaid off .

Green and OHB gone and I rekn that’s the end of our delistings. The remaining 4 out of contract will prob get 1 year deals.

Tom Burton
Judson Clarke
Hugo Ralphsmith
Maurice Rioli
Steely Green
Oliver Hayes-Brown
Samson Ryan
Tyler Sonsie
James Trezise
Liam Fawcett
Kaleb Smith

Now leaves our list breakdown like this (assuming those 4 are re-signed).
Primary: 34
Rookie A: 1
Rookie B: 1

If we take 4 players at the national draft as expected our primary list will be at the max. capacity. We would be able to rookie A list 3 more players through the rookie draft, SSP, mid-season draft and still have 1 spot left on the rookie B list.

Four on the primary list I think.

Seven,  pending rioli. Ralphsmith. Clarke.

Two rookie a. One if burton stays.

Personally no issue with Green being delisted, agree with that call

Feel for OHB, considering where he came from I reckon he showed some very good signs. His back story is inspirational TBBH. Wish him all the best

Ohb as a vfl listed player would be handy.

North interest in Sam Ryan apparently.  :o

Not really but all 3 should be gone o agree there.  They are all equally average.
I'd try Rioli as a defender.  It's his only chance of staying on the list.

To let 2 Ruckman go , might give a hint to who Richmond have their eye on in the ND

Looks to me like we will start 2027 with a full list of 44 players comprising 38 on the primary list, 4 on the Rookie A list and two on the Rookie B list. I am assuming Mykelti Lefau gets elevated to the primary list, we draft four kids in the National draft, one in the Rookie draft and we sign one Irishman to the Rookie B list. Here’s my rationale.

2026 list prior to retirements and delistings
Primary: 38
Rookie A: 5 (Kye Annand, Thomas Burton, Campbell Grey, Mykelti Lefau, James Trezise)
Rookie B: 2 (Patrick Carr, Oliver Hayes-Brown)
Total: 45

2026 list on first list lodgement (31st October)
Primary: 34
Out (Retired): 2 (Nathan Broad, Dion Prestia)
Out (Delisted): 5 (Steely Green, Liam Fawcett, Sampson Ryan, Kaleb Smith, Tyler Sonsie)
In (Free agents/Trades): 2 (Kieren Briggs, Nathan O’Driscoll)
In (Elevation from Rookie A): 1 (Mykelti Lefau)
Rookie A: 3
Out (Delisted): 1 (James Trezise)
Out (Elevation to Primary list): 1 (Mykelti Lefau)
Rookie B: 2
Out (Delisted): 1 (Oliver Hayes-Brown)
In (New signing): 1 (We will list one of the Irish lads who we’ve brought out to trial)
Total: 39

2027 list after AFL Draft and Rookie Draft
Primary: 38 (34 above plus AFL draft picks 2, 5, compensation pick 22, 44)
Rookie A: 4 (3 above plus Rookie draft pick 2)
Rookie B: 2 (Patrick Carr plus one Irish signing)
Total: 44

Agree strongly with this. MRJ and HRS still being on the list ahead of them isn't right with me

Club making a statement with the delistings. Didn't expect them to get rid of both Ryan and Steely but they did and rhey made the right decision. Even though ultimately OHB didn't make the standard required he deserves enormous credit for his efforts. Wish all of those delisted good luck in their future endeavors.
