Seems like we try to do anything to fit George in that team  :banghead how many times has he proven not up to Stack and Rcd should atleast be in that 26 man squad.
Yep, I would've thought after that Suns debacle and then him butchering running into an open goal against Port last week, he wouldn't be promoted ahead of others already in the 22 :huh3. We don't have the luxury anymore of carrying someone like George. Momentum is so important in modern footy especially with these new rules to "open up the game". So butchering gimme disposals and goals that hand control directly back to the opposition are so costly.

Castagna oh dear. Mind blowing decision. Well the selection committee are very very brave. If he fails badly in a tight loss..... Oh Boy.

I’m amazed that Gibcus hasn’t made way for Sampson Ryan, freeing up Ben Miller to play down back and give Nank a chop out in the ruck before resting forward now he’s kicking goals.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

While I’m not in the outraged brigade that some are that RCD isn’t getting a game I do find it bizarre that he can’t even crack a 26 man squad or be named as an emergency.

Is it possible they offered him a contract extension which he turned down and so they aren’t giving games to someone whose future lies elsewhere. 1000% speculation ofcourse.

I'm in the outraged brigade because it just sends a terrible message. Seriously,  not sure what else the kid needs to do.

As for your speculation, who knows but I don't think anyone could blame the kid if wants to leave

I was told earlier this year that RCD was seen by the Club as a replacement for Cotch and his role. While Cotch is in the side (and possibly going on next year) then that would exclude RCD. It doesn't make sense to me but that is what I was told.

Dimma has said the same a number of times in a number of pressers. Said it this season a few times this season, stressed it after the Eagles game

Best way for him to learn and further improve is to actually play along side Cotchin...

It is a joke

pee weak changes.

Been fine without Soldo but I suppose you could argue the Hawks rucks are big.

Edwards should only be in as med sub.

No spot for George or Ross in my team. Shocked no RCD after his huge numbers.

It’s just an extended squad, all of these things are still possible. Although I do rekn they’ll play both Ross and George, doubt soldo will be picked.

Wouldn't hurt for RCD to continue to play good reserves football. He's a little hard done by but he's not Tivendale in 2008 getting 37 and 6. Be consistent and it'll come. And when you do get your shot, get a stuffing kick and hold down a spot

So what constitutes consistency at VFL level? He has been in the bests bar 1 game for the last 6 weeks and doesn't even get into the extended squad. Others string together a couple of good games and in they come.

His last senior game the Coach, you know some bloke called Dimma who's a 3 time premiership coach said it was his best game for the Club..But the next week because Cotchin is back he gets dropped. Bit hard to hold "hold down a spot" if you play a good game and get dropped the next week. Again while others play poorly weeks on end and "hold down a spot"

I agree with what you've suggested but when someone is doing all those things at VFL level and not getting a chance while others do then there is something wrong.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of RCD but its hard to imagine him stringing together a better run of VFL form.

Something's up behind the scenes with him I reckon.

Would be surprised if Soldo plays, we already look too tall. No Lewis, no Reeves, they really only have Koschitzke up forward as a genuine tall, with maybe McEvoy occasionally. So I guess Tarrant on Koschitzke to start, with Balta/Miller on Gunston?

They have named three players 193cm or more on the Bench 4 if Howe at 191cm plays
.They have the option to go very tall still.
