season and team defining game
« on: May 27, 2006, 07:40:39 PM »
this game in my opinion is teh season and team defining game we will look back to in a yr or two to say this is when we finally got it together.

for the first time since i can remember it has been too difficult to pick the 3 best players 4 us.
hyde fantastic
bling fantastic
snake .....
joel......
paddy....
cogs......
tiv..... yes tiv...
polo.....
meyer....
newman...
chubba.....
the list goes on,
the whole team played their part.
(bar the captain...but we will excuse him first game back from injury)

we showed maturity

but more important

SELF BELIEF!!! AND FAITH IN THE COACHING STAFF!

THIS IS WHAT GEELONG LACKED IN THE END.

we played into the breeze in the last quarter, and them being inaccurate is stiff pooh. bad kicking bad footy! but we had a head wind, and we out ran them, our fitness and skill is improving each week and for the first time in along time we looked like we are finally are beleiving in ourselves.

as cogs said in the after game interview, he always felt we were going to win, and all belived our fitness was superior. geelong at 3/4 time were spent! and we just kept on going.

whether we make the 8 or not is irrelevant, in th efuture we will turn back and say this was the game!
no one backed us, except us die hard s of course!

it was a damn insult that no so called expert backed us and a damn insult that the bookies  gave is $3.40 or there abouts! i put 200 on this game, i had faith , i should have put 2000!

anyway , terry is working wonders but not just him, all his assistants. watching them all after the game, the happiness and excitement by all was a joy to see.

petts said it all in one sentance after the game.

Hey X calm down. It was only Geelong lol ;).

The most pleasing thing about the game was no one can claim afterwards that we caught Geelong on a bad day like some said about Adelaide last week. The pussies were copping it left, right and centre from the media and their own supporters and were making statements about how they would throw everything at us on their home turf. Their season was on the line and we were able to match their intensity and pressure, hold our nerve and not panic when we fell behind on the scoreboard and then finish off our good work better than the Cats could. Past Richmond sides would have been blown away from the start.

You've got to laugh at Bomber Thompson's line in the paper today about us - "Sometimes sides get lucky breaks and I thought they had some lucky breaks today".... WTF! ::)

Missing goals is bad footy Mark not bad luck nor is playing unfit lugs lol. The Cats played their best footy for about 6 weeks yesterday but in the end we were still the better team because we made the most of our chances. Simple as that.

it wasnt just geelong mt

it was geelong at home. geelong has been our bogey side fared 2 and half decades.  and we could have crumbled late in teh last quarter when they had a run on , but held tuff, showed character.

now bomber and our lucky breaks , pigs @rse.
the umpires as usaul awere shocking, ppl keep talking up th emilburn insident, but what about hydes mark not piad, and bling and krak many times were infringed infront of goal! they had many more lucky breaks.

rooke hit on lids should be investigated , he came out with a knee and stitches to his head! if it were picket, six week 4 sure! the head is meant to be a no go zone accoeding to the afl.

now the about all the points kicked, as i recall we rushed a few behinds also, and we forced them out wide and put heaps of pressure on them! and what about the 2-3 goal wind they had in the last quarter!!!!

thompson is a w@nker!!!

and i have been thinking about this a bit and i dont blame the cats 4 there bad form, i blame thompson!!
i dont blame otto or kingsley

i blame thompson!!!!

he has lost the players and killed their confidence, and this all started after thompson scaked their fitness and conditioning coach!

and one must remember, we beat a geelong team with an ablett in it(even though he was their best player)

another thing that gets up my nose is everyone saying scarlet beat richo, its all about perception!

richo beat scarlet and i have no doubt about it. richoo had a role to play and it was one of a sacrificial nature. his job was to get scarlet away from his comfort zobne, as it was with ruten last week. now in doing so it opened up space in our fwd line and gave us options.

now if richo had of kicked str8, as all his misses were gettable, he would have had 6 goals next to his name, and everyone would be saying he gave scarlet a bath.

yes im excited

i live in geelong, and its effing gr8 beating these latte drinking w@nkers on their turf!

eat em alive

and we will beat freo next week, i have no doubt and this time richo will kick str8
