Rioli Jnr

Have deliberately left out Cotch and Jack R. If we are still viewing them as in our 10 most important then we are in strife (just my opinion)

Can’t imagine there’s daylight to any of our defenders being in our top 10 most important players. If we are to be successful next season our key position defenders have to step it up big time from last season.

Reckon in order based on the players we had last year so will only do 8 as Taranto and Hopper were got for a bloody good reason and are easily top 10.

Lynch Riewoldt when you only have two good tall fwds well they cannot be replaced.

Prestia and Cotchin were our best two mids and for the Taranto Hopper aquisitions to work as we wish they need to stay healthy.

Tarrant was slow to start but he was the only one who showed the needed ability to stop the opposition big key fwds has any thing changed?
Not going to name Balta as i thought he had a very poor year in defense as well as a forward. Would not care atm if Miller had his spot in the back half.
Its a year Balta has to earn his stripes and show all the adulation is warranted no matter where we play him.

Big Nankervis well bottom line he is head and shoulders our best ruckman atm and when he is on top of his game everyone walks taller.

Bolton is our most electric player just needs to keep on narrowing the gap from quite to good games. Hate the word x factor because it implies inconsistency and thats not true with Bolton.

One of Junior Rioli or Cumberland, went with Cumberland simply because he is a goal kicking threat.

Bottom line the team is the sum of all parts but there are some we just cant win with out.

Big bonus if the likes of Dusty and Grimesy can get back to somewhere near their best need Dan Rioli to replicate his season and most likely we need a couple of more running types who are damaging with ball in hand.

Last the one im hoping makes big strides is Samson Ryan or Miller as a key fwd. the two who can also ease the pain are Gibcus and Sonsie.

If Grimes goes down the rest can cover
If Balta goes down the rest can cover
It Tarrant goes down the rest can cover

Etc etc

If Lynch goes down nobody can cover
If Nank goes down nobody can cover

Etc etc

Do I need to continue

Lynch
Riewoldt

then

Balta
M Rioli
Ross
Dow
Gibcus
Brown
Banks
Clarke

The second group is where our real improvement could come from.

No Bolton? Scoring requirement.

Nah, we know what we are getting from Bolton and other proven performers. That makes him less important to us than the fringe guys, the bottom 10 players who will play senior footy but aren't currently regulars. They are the important ones IMO, that's where a premiership is won and lost.

Ive only got Lynch and Riewoldt in there as important, because if one or both aren't there, we are in a bit of strife up forward.
