Get Koschitzke and build steadily

The Tigers are set to bring in Jacob Koschitzke via the trade period, they just need to get a deal done. He will fulfil the role of Jack Riewoldt and offer support to Tom Lynch, who was missed for large parts of 2023. James Harmes has interest from the Tigers and could bolster their engine room. Given the draft capital the side gave up to get Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto last year and the fact they’ll need to trade for Koschitzke, the Tigers would be looking to preserve as much of their 2024 draft hand as possible in order to regenerate under Adem Yze.

Apparently Clayton Oliver is up for grabs if “the price is right” . From memory he’s on $1m a year? I feel like he will go but am curious who is gonna take up that pay cheque

Nah I think it's closer to 700-800. I believe he signed a 7 year extension to his already unfinished contract

Wonder why he's so out of favour?

no chance mate, closer to 1 mil.

this contract was signed 6 months after he won a b&f in a flag year.

Eek that's madness

SHAPE UP OR SHIP OFF: MELBOURNE’S ULTIMATUM FOR CLAYTON OLIVER

Sam Edmund
SEN
5 October 2023

Melbourne has hit Clayton Oliver with an ultimatum – shape up or ship off.

Fed-up Demons officials have told their troubled midfielder that they need a commitment from him that he will once again conform to the standards and expectations the club demands.

They have made a series of demands to Oliver that include the need to treat club staff with respect, teammates with respect, prepare the way he should and to turn up to training in the proper condition.

It can be revealed that Melbourne’s reluctance to squash the frenzied trade talk surrounding the 26-year-old is exclusively due to its exasperation with Oliver’s increasingly erratic behaviour.

Equally, Oliver had made clear his dissatisfaction with his club to various sections of the AFL industry.

It’s this ill-will that that has seen rival clubs smell blood in the water and some even confident of pulling off an enormous trade coup.

In recent days, however, Oliver has shown a willingness to return to the fold. He has put his hand up to say that his living arrangements and social lifestyle hasn’t been befitting of an AFL player.

Max Gawn has also opened the door of his home to Oliver, who has recently moved in with the captain and his family.

Port Adelaide wingman Xavier Duursma is reportedly gathering attention from Victorian clubs.

Duursma is contracted for next year but according to AFL Media's Cal Twomey could be open to a move back to his home state.

Duursma’s younger brother Zane is expected to be a top five pick in this year’s AFL Draft.

The family hails from Victoria’s Gippsland region.

Was it durrsma who dropped the chesty in the PF in 2020? Either way if the price is right I’d happily take him on the wing as an upgrade on an aging kmac or pickett who I think still has a lot to process with his off field woes

"My understanding is there were a couple of clubs offering 10-year deals to Aaron Naughton. West Coast and Sydney were really into Aaron Naughton and Geelong had a fair bit of interest as well."

Hartley and Livingston need to get creative and get us some nice picks and put some value on the trade table as simple as that there is value to put as trade bait.

You kidding - we won't even trade duds like Soldo & Ralphsmith when there are sucker clubs out there who actually want them. :shh

Yes
Likely heading to the Bombers according to Jon Ralph.

Port Adelaide midfielder Xavier Duursma underwent a medical at Essendon on Thursday, as the Bombers look to bring the former 18th pick back to Victoria. The Dons believe Duursma’s play style suits theirs
