Never trade back into the draft or take it seriously paid overs for Hopper & probably Taranto as well when they both were uncontracted and wanted to leave and GWS didn't really care if they did, hung on to Ralphsmith & Graham when they were wanted.  Re-sign list cloggers & over the hill plodders - still think we have a premiership list, trying to be Geelong/Sydney when we don't have their advantages - past their prime and clearly delusional.

Last year they just asked GWS what picks they wanted and then signed the deals.

Surely we wont give up our first pick for Kosi. That would be bloody ludicrous!

I dont begrudge the club for "topping up" last year and having a crack, even though it clearly didnt work out.

However, im now of the opinion that we need to bottom out for a few years and get some high picks in.

For this reason, I would have put Lynch and Dusty up for trade.

As Dio said, we dont have the advantages to rebuild on the fly like other clubs do.

We're in for some pain.

The players we should offer for trade are Short and Prestia. Both have 1st round value but not in our top 10 players.

Who in their right mind would give up a first rounder for Prestia or Short.
No disrespect to the meatball but he is turning 32 and is in all sorts of trouble and just my opinion but Short continues to be the most overrated player we have.

That depends on how you rate the list and how much time you think it will take to contend again.

If its a long term approach and an acceptance of the pain that comes with that then obviously Lynch to GWS along with Dusty for a pi;e of picks that would get them a flag imo.

Melbourne have a pile of picks and are seriously in need of a great goal kicking fwd as well Lynchy would fit that bill as well.

The hundred dollar question when will they be prepared to acknowledge the state of the list and the time frame it may take to rebuild.

An interesting one was Sydney going after Adams from Collingwood. Maybe Prestia a very similar type with tons of experience to help guide their young mids would be a good fit.

Lots of scenarios can be played out it just depends as i said where you think the list is at.
