The 6-11 man should be told to rest up till next year barring a shock turnaround
Zero point risking him

Same goes for Gibcus... :shh

Wouldn't be pushing the likes of Grimes, Nank, Prestia & Vlas too hard either if they're all going around again for us next year... :shh

Early prognosis

Vlastuin and Rioli could return to boost the Tigers ahead of their match against Greater Western Sydney, the latter after five weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring issue. Young Smith was last week added to the inactive list, freeing up a second spot ahead of the mid-season draft following the retirement of Jason Castagna. – Sarah Black

Floss still with a bad corky that hasn't recovered yet. The way McQualter was talking, Floss is no certainty to return next week either  :-\.

Maurice will make his return next weekend. The Club wants to get extra training into him. So, he's not playing at either level this weekend.

Richmond is yet to officially update its injury list, with Grimes receiving treatment and strapping on his shoulder during the last quarter of the tight win over Greater Western Sydney. Vlastuin is now a test for a third week running after suffering a very bad cork, but a trip to Perth to face Fremantle may be a less-than-ideal return. – Sarah Black

Richmond is yet to officially update its injury list...
How hard can it be? Just chuck "short term," "4-6 weeks," and "7-11" weeks next to everyone's names and put your feet up.

Thursday afternoon and still no official update from the Club  :huh.

McQualter said Hopper is getting better (it was a "very bad" calf) and is improving his running. Will be back post-bye at this stage.

Gibcus looking to rejoin training in the next week or two and we're hoping to get him back into footy post-bye as well.

Latest injury update from Physical Performance Manager Luke Meehan ahead of Saturday night's Round 14 clash with St Kilda at the MCG.

Noah Cumberland, soleus

"Unfortunately last week at training he hurt himself at the start of the session. Things are going okay and we're looking at him to be available after the bye."

Ivan Soldo, foot

"He's actually had a really frustrating year, but things have really turned in the last couple of weeks. He's got to get through our main session still on Thursday, and we're expecting him to be available, finally."

Toby Nankervis, corky

"Toby's pretty tough, he'll be fine."

Jacob Hopper, soleus

"Jacob's going really well, he's making some strong progressions. He'll be available after the bye."

Tom Lynch, foot

"We're going slowly with Tom. We got some really good news with a scan and x-ray last week. Obviously he's very important and we're going to make sure things are spot on before we get him back into football, but things are going okay."

Josh Gibcus, hamstring

"Things are okay with Josh. Like Tom, and all our players, he's really important and we want to make sure things are right. So, we're going to make sure things are spot on before we progress him back into football."

Seth Campbell, adductor

"He's had his best week all year, so things are starting to turn for Seth which is great. We're all excited to see him and hopefully a couple of weeks after the bye he'll play his first game."

Early prognosis

Soldo needs to get through training this week, but is a chance to play after a persistent plantar fasciitis injury, while fellow ruck Toby Nankervis has been cleared after suffering a corked quad. It has been confirmed Pickett will not play this week, after facing a Perth court on Monday. Maurice Rioli jnr (hamstring) made a successful return over the weekend at VFL level. Hopper and Cumberland will return after the Tigers' bye in round 15. Lynch had a positive X-ray result, but is still quite some time away. – Sarah Black

I'm sorry but this conditioning and fitness has been such a disappointment for some time. Gibcus 4-6? How does a 19yo miss and entire season with a hamstring? Hoppers calf is 7 weeks in total? What is going on.

How can Tom Stewart miss 1 game from a medial strain and we have such lengthy layoffs for soft tissue.

Don't get me started on Lynch 12 weeks for the passed month. There's bad luck and then there is poor management.
Go Tigers!

I am sick to death of people potting the S&C people for the Lynch injury and the time it has taken for it to heal

It was a significant break, a very serious break. It required surgery. His entire recovery and rehabilitation has been based on what the surgeon and specialist has advised. Now I get that's not want people want to hear but it is what's transpired. The break had zero to do with his pre-season plantar fascia issue. Again not what people want to believe but that's the situation. They said after surgery he would out longer than first thought. Amazing how many people missed that little piece of info.

Ditto Gibcus, he had a significant hamstring injury, so serious it required surgery. It has been well documented that the wound got infected, it meant a set back. Again they followed the advice received from the surgeon around rehab. A plan was put in place but then as they upped his work loads he had problems. So rightly the club has taken a very cautious approach. I can just imaginthe outcry if he can back and re did his hamstring so badly that he needed more surgery.

TL you said it yourself he is 19 years old. Isn't more important to get right now than risk him having problems his entire career? I wish he was out there but not at the risk of missing more games in the seasons ahead. That would be poor management

I have said it so many times pot S&C for the things they should be potted for but to include the Lynch and now Gibcus in those whacks is overkill
