Royce!  He was the greatest overhead mark I have ever seen!  Not just for sticky fingers, but for how uncanny his judgement of the ball in flight was.  Royce had his opponent beaten while the ball (long, high kicks back then)  was still on the way up.  Royce took marks that nobody ever expected thanks to that uncanny judgement.  Watching Royce Vs Doull/Jesaulenko was as good as it gets.

I have a real soft spot for Richo too, such an incredible athlete & a born Tiger, but Royce was such a naturally freakish talent.     :cheers

This is going to sound strange but I'd take Jack Titus

What a gun player he was. History says he was ahead of his time

Would love to see how he would go today. Reckon he'd be a super star

Richo for pure entertainment value.
Jack for team orientation.
Royce Hart for the level of skill not shown by many if any others.

Pick one? I can't.

Yeah we're already going to vote for him mate, you don't need to keep selling it.....

I really know nothing of Royce or Titus so of the two I do know id pick Jack. He was far more reliable than Richo.

Looking at stats skinny for me, then Royce, mind you Jacks selfless play nowadays is pretty good. Richo I see as less of a team man but that is my bleak outlook

Why do you feel that way about richo?

Different era where mainly forwards were expected to kick goals but he was also dragged for trying to give them away and went up the wing to make way for Jack to develop.

Got dirty on his teammates for poor delivery but that's about all I can remember.

not sure he would. Riewoldt does because he's got plenty of nifty tricks and some good skills at ground level.

Having said that, Richo all the way. Absolute specimen. I would do damn near anything to go back in time to watch him play again

You could ask me at any time in the future and put any group of players there but as long as Richos listed he will always be my pick.

Titus was just 175cm tall. It would be like Liam Baker playing permanent FF and kicking 100 goals in a season and 970 goals across his career :o.

All four are champions but I would choose Royce. In the modern game, he would play both midfield and forward like Dusty.

Definition of reliable? Ball in air, Richo. Ball going through big sticks, Jack. Richo has taken the most contested marks in the game’s history. More than Duck Carey.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Guess he means goalkicking accuracy.

Jack goes at about 62%, Richo went at about 59%. We don't keep record of OOTF but if you just round down a little bit that's about it and there's really not a big gap between them.

For comparison Hawkins goes at about 63% and Kennedy went at about over 64%.

Wayne Carey went at about 61%.

So Richo is a fair drop from these guys but Jack hardly a lot better himself especially over his later years when he gets less shots and really needs to capitalise.
