With the desperate soldo selection i reckon the team should have gone the following.

Mansell - Miller - Grimes
Broad - Balta - Rioli

Banks - Martin - Pickett
Soldo - Hopper - Prestia

Taranto  - Riewoldt - Cumberland
Bauer - Ryan - Bolton

Sonsie - Short - Baker - Cotchin

Dow.

Out Young, Vlastuin, McIntosh, Rioli, Clarke
Ins - Bauer, Broad, Banks, Sonsie, Soldo, Dow sub.

The Soldo and Broad selections reek of desperation both should in an ideal world be playing two's. That alone says it all about our depth or lack there of.

I think Broad is a straight in but agree on Soldo.

Ben Miller looked out of his depth vs Dees. Assume they don’t want Witts to expose the rucks again.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Exactly. I don't rate Soldo when he is paired with Nank but we need some experience against Witt's and therefore is more a requirement than desperate. Broad is a straight back in. He did all the preseason, played well the first few games, was not out with injury and would of trained the whole time he was suspended. Again not a desperation move but more of a logical decision.

If Soldo is fit, happy for him to play. Witts is a good ruck.

Broad, Sonsie, Bauer and Ross should all play too.

Drop Mansell, Ralph, Clarke. Prestia and Rioli already out.

Dimma said Bauer won't play this week.

Broad, Soldo and Ross seem to be the ins based on what Dimma said.
