Brad Scott

Don't care what this reads like, but tonight showed what the last 3 years of a disgrace the AFL has been against our club.

Brad Scott, is a very average coach. Tactically he absolutely smashed us tonight. Why? Cause he was employed for 3 years to study our system that was too dominate in footy for the purpose of equalisation. How to promote equalisation - increase the uncontested reward, which is what the recent rule changes have done, in particular the stand rule. And that is exactly what Essendon did all night, they played slow, pin point, sideways, chip netball footy. Scott knew exactly how to set up the D50 and absolutely destroy our chaos entries and absolutely shut down Jack with a very avg VFL player. And stayed with us all night to be in touch. They flooded back and slowed the game down every time they got the ball to get numbers forward and chipped side ways, got numbers forward and worked through the press and got inside 50s. Then when the game was there to be won we stuffed it up and they took advantage.

Crowd was silent for 3.5 qtrs. Boring as to watch the netball chip style rubbish they served up. Sure they won but regardless the spectacle was absolutely shocking. Nobody will talk about it I'm sure cause nobody has sympathy for Richmond and our success but the comp is far worse off for it. Instead of letting other clubs learn the way we played and dominated games with manic pressure and fast breaking chaos footy, so exciting to follow when its your team, a shame that has been stopped. Now we have Essendon fans enjoying Contact Netball AFL wins.

We've spoken about it before but tonight it was on show on the big stage the absolute bottle the AFL have created.
Go Tigers!

Hands down the biggest load of poo I’ve ever read

Yes, the AFL and umpires and the prime minister are all conspiring against us. That’s why we lot blokes like Zach Merrett cut it up every week, AFL have banned us from showing any sort of respect to opposition players

Unbelievable

Exactly

Yes their game style was pathetic but it worked and they got the 4 points

We did nothing to counter it, just thought as always we'd somehow turn it into " a Richmond game"

We didn't and our season is now on life support with I would think the plug about to be pulled next week against Port :banghead

I hate the Stand rule as much as anyone, but we can't blame last night's loss on recent rule changes. We've struggled against Brad Scott coached sides since Dimma's first year.

Dimma's record is now 4 wins and 8 losses against Brad Scott.

R16 2010   Loss
R5 2011     Win .... Dusty's breakout game. 35 possies and 4 goals.
R24 2011   Loss
R17 2012   Loss
R15 2013   Loss
R12 2014   Loss
R6 2015     Loss
R23 2015   Win .... when Brad Scott rested most of his side.
EF 2015     Loss
R11 2016   Loss
R11 2017   Win .... Obviously, the year of our drought breaking flag and the beginning of our dynasty years.
R8 2018     Win
R10 2023   Loss .... Brad Scott's first as Essendon coach.

The most annoying thing is every loss has been pretty much the same. Scott gets his team to flood back, waits for dumb us to bomb the ball aimlessly forward, ball gets turned over due to their greater numbers, they rebound into open space and goal. Rinse and repeat  :banghead.

Woweee

Not a great coaching record against Brad.

Looks like an obvious strategy that’s worked for him against us all these years.

You would think Hardwick would have something put together by now

I've noticed a lot of sides going back to 2017 style floods. I think it has more to do with the footy department caps not rising so they are reverting to what worked when they didn't have large caps. Floods are back along with the crap spectacle it is.
