Rance used to get harsh criticism on here in his early years . How people forget.

Poor first quarter. Poor intensity.

Dominant second quarter but failed to put it on the scoreboard.

Fought hard in the third to even the contest and hang in there.

Disappointing last quarter after getting within less than a kick. Had the momentum but the turning point was the kick inside 50 where we had 2-vs-1 and the kick went high to Allir's advantage and Port easily go down the other end for a soft goal. After that they beat us up in the clearances and inside 50s as we ran out of steam.

Umps (esp. Leigh Fisher) did us no favours. Different rules today for each team. But ultimately, we're not good and polished enough to capitalise due to our poor skills and finishing. Summed up our season.

ps. Not sure why Samson was subbed off when he was. Sure he was quiet in the first half but we had a mismatch up forward against Burton and Samson had just kicked a goal before 3/4 time so his confidence would've been up. We lacked structure forward of the ball once he went off. I don't understand why Clarke is the sub either. Aside from that late goal in junk time, Clarke has been ineffective.

We are talking about Balta constantly making dumb errors.

But apparently nothing to worry about because Rance….

Umps stuffed us over completely but we lost the game at selection.

HTF can anyone justify Riewoldt, Miller, Young and Ryan playing in the same team today when its wet.

Mini looking completely clueless so far

How a team can lose their ability to play attacking football is a mystery.

If only he could take a mark today. He's definitely better as a follower around the ball than as a inside 50 forward target  :P.

The effort was there just couldn't execute it at times the basics , but in reality nothing changed poor skills , errors and same culprits. Club needs to change its mindset this year its about development and who makes and who doesn't .Get the kids in.

A mixture of no trust in our forward line and structure and our woeful scattergun disposal going inside 50. Our forwards don't lead up at the ball dragging defenders with them to create space inside 50 and we don't have dangerous smalls at ground level anymore front and square to keep the ball in there. In the rare times, we do actually have repeat entries such as the second quarter we kill our momentum by missing inside 50 targets or spraying our shots at goal all over the place. We should have been 3-4 goals up at half-time. Instead, we spent the whole game chasing Port on the scoreboard and again run out of juice in the last quarter.

How about we actually play a natural forward or 2 in Bauer or Bradtke, or both.

Not one of those "Balta's a forward" derpers but reckon he should've gone up there at some point when it was clear Riewoldt was cooked & we couldn't get past Aliir... :shh

Ummm
Bauer isn't actually a forward. In the SANFL he was a defender who got moved forward and excelled

He could be for us the perfect swingman

I prefer Tylar Young and his ineffective, panic ridden disposals. His ability to cough up goals is also important because he plays to our structures the way Dimma wanted.
