To top off a dirty night for the Aussies, Lucas Neill got sent off near the end after a second yellow card.

We need a real coach and we need more teams in the national comp to give more chances to young kids. We wont get anywhere running around with less than 12 teams in a comp.

We need a real coach who knows the importance of tactics, playing as a team and doesn't play duds as centre backs. Kisnorbo for heaven's sake :help. Arnold is just another Farina. No idea.

I wouldn't say we need more teams in the A-league but the season needs to not finish in early Feb. If you're going to use A-league players you need our players match-fit and battle hardened at least. The Socceroos just weren't running and working hard enough especially defensively :scream. Two of Iraq's goals were laughable. U10's mistakes  :help.

I like just about all sports at top level, but soccer just still doesn't do it for me.
For a game that is played all around the world for so long, the way they carry on like pussies is pox.
And it is slow and boring  most of the time, no wonder most supporters are fkcuheads.

Fair enough you hate it CUB but hardcore soccer people (Sydney-centric SBS commentators  ::) ) would say the same thing about Aussie rules. The Hawthorn v St Kilda game earlier this year was a painful cure for insomnia. A neutral would say the same thing about the Crows game last year.

I like soccer having played it and IMO there's good and shocking games in both codes (I still prefer following Aussie Rules of course). The group stage of the Asian Cup is hardly top shelf soccer compared to the WC and top European and South American comps which just goes to show how pitiful the Socceroos have played and why everyone is calling for Arnold's head.

There'll be some Sydney-centric SBS soccer people's noses out of joint over Jon Ralph's article in the Herald-Sun today  :lol

In a rematch from last year's World Cup, the Socceroos play Japan in the Quarter Finals on Saturday Night, 8.20pm AEST in Hanoi, Vietnam.
