There probably not that fussed that they lost but who cares what they think. Im just proud of how the team came back from a terrible first half to win in the 2nd half. When things get tough in the future the team can always look back upon this game and feel confident that it can be done.

Aussies had one very close chance but Serbia had the better of the first half especially in midfield. Showing more classy one-touch play than us. However them having just one up front is helping us defensively. 0-0 at the start of the second half.

Finished 0-0. A fair final score. The Serbs love having long range shots don't they. There were a couple of close misses but it really wasn't a major threat.

I loved this bit with Trimboli on the ABC radio broadcast:

Commentator 1: Serbia controlling the game around mid-pitch.

Trimboli: When did mid-pitch come on for Serbia?

Serbia had the better chances. Federici made some good saves.

Kewell didn't make the squad for the friendly against Wales due to lack of fitness.
Victory has now gave him an ultimatum to sign by tomorrow or no deal.

Kewell's now been given to Monday to decide. The Victory have been more than fair enough to Harry. The new A-league season starts in two months and there'll be preseason games before that so they need to settle on their full squad now.

The Socceroos were very lucky to get a win tonight in the first WC qualifier. Thailand almost got away with a draw before we pinched it. Aussies had 50 entries into the penalty box for just two scrappy goals which means the forward 1/3 play was ordinary and too predictable to say the least.

The Thailand game must have been needed to blow out the cobwebs as the Aussies cruised past Saudi Arabia and should now easily make the final round in the Asian qualifiers. The only issue is it doesn't seem we can play Kennedy and Cahill in the same forward line.
