Full name is Matthew Tschuna-Coulthard.

He's mates with Tyson Stengle.

I hear he’s as fast as Usain Bolt and has incredible goal sense, farts goals from the pockets in his sleep.  :shh
The club that keeps giving.

I think he’s worth the punt.
Pace and defensive forward play have been non existent for a number of years.
Back in the day, Georgie was able to do both and avg a goal per game.
That would work nicely.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

PICK 4 - RICHMOND - MATT COULTHARD (GLENELG)
22, Forward, 176cm, 69kg

Wow a serious surprise here from the Tigers. A SANFL small forward from Glenelg, this is an interesting pick that noone saw coming. He only became eligible for the draft over the weekend after playing his third SANFL game.

Chris Cavanagh says: A mature-aged small forward, Coulthard has impressed in the SANFL this season both at reserves and senior level. He kicked four goals from eight disposals last weekend in his final audition.

We got our priority type,  You guessed it a small fwd and with our first pick. He can join  a long list of small forwards that we have.
What on earth are they thinking. Then they follow it up with a hbf it is so funny.

Obviously there were no talls or mids worth looking at well not according to us.

Just stating the obvious here, after each of our picks there was talls available and mids. But wait we are brimming with talls and mids none are worth looking at or giving a chance to.
Nope we have key fwd covered for many years to come with JR, TL and Bradtke who they can't see fit to play despite injuries and all.  or Bauer who we cant see fit to even play as a fwd. We are rolling in riches here people, obviously we dont need to take a few punts on talls lol.
Nope we took the small fwd and the hbf of which we must have a dearth of!!! and of course they dont have deficiencies so we just had to take em lol.

They are all, sml, med, tall basically picks who have been overlooked before. if we are chasing a superstar with any of them then we are indeed deluded. So why not take THE PUNT ON A NEED.

People wonder why i take the pee out of them. How long can they just go on and basically ignore severe list shortcomings and get away with  no criticism from most supporters.

Twomey's summary:

Pick 4 - Richmond - Matt Coulthard

“He kick four goals on the weekend for Glenelg, he's a small forward.

“He's got the Tyson Stengles about him, that’s the type of player I'd call him.

“He's more of a chance to be playing soon because he is 22 years old.

“He’s 176 centimetres and really crafty at ground level.”

My new favourite player!

Hopefully they get the pronunciation of his surname correct: “Coal-Thard” and not “Cool-Tard

It's been less than two months since Matt Coulthard arrived at Tigerland via the Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

He's set to make his AFL debut as our sub this Saturday.

Coulthard to make AFL debut as substitute

Matthew Coulthard will make his AFL debut this weekend against Hawthorn as Richmond's substitute.

By Richmond Media
20 July 2023

Less than two months after joining Richmond via the Mid-Season Rookie Draft, Matthew Coulthard will make his AFL debut this weekend as Richmond's Round 19 substitute.

The debut completes a rapid rise for the 22-year-old small forward, who was Richmond's first selection (No. 4) in the May draft.

Coulthard arrived at Tigerland from Glenelg after just three senior SANFL matches in 2023, which included an eye-catching four-goal performance against Central District in May.

He has made his presence known straight away, kicking four goals in his opening six matches in Richmond's VFL side, his high work rate, speed and pressure all key features of his game.

"I'm really liking the progression that he's showing in his first few weeks at the Club," Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris said of Coulthard recently.

"He's definitely getting to know our system and our structures and the excitement he brings is profound."

Coulthard will be the fourth Tiger to make their AFL debut this season, following in the footsteps of Tylar Young, Sam Banks and Jacob Bauer.
