The club for me has the wrong mindset with the coach picking a team for finals. The year is about development and exposure for our kids.Get games into them let's see who can swim or sink.

Trying to finish as high as possible so trading out our first pick doesn't look as bad... :shh

Predictable ins and outs. One of Hugo, Young or Mansell was going to make way for Floss. Hugo will probably be the sub. Cumberland most likely would've been dropped as sub anyway if he wasn't injured.

Still no new names.

So why was Bauer boarding the plane? :huh
We usually take a spare. I'm guessing Bauer would also be a backup option for Grimes if there's a last minute issue with the shoulder he hurt last week.

Not listed as an emergency so not sure why he would be on the flight.
Well, the only other reason I can think of would be the Club wanting Bauer to gain experience travelling away interstate with the team?

We play the Eagles in Perth in only 5 weeks time, so could they be preparing Bauer for a senior game(s) around that time?
I think you are right MT.  I have noticed before that the club take rookies & draftees on interstate trips even when they wont be playing.  I can only imagine its to give the young blokes a first hand look at an interstate trip, plus its a chance to rub shoulders with the senior players.  I have also noticed many young blokes make their debut at these interstate games.  Why?  Getting out of the Melbourne bubble?  Who knows, but I've noticed it happen a few times lately.

Bauer could be the sub.

Can play med-tall both ends.

Gives flexibility.
