A SECOND horrific leg injury suffered by Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse hasn't gone unnoticed by Richmond's Nathan Brown, who plays his first game today since Round 3.
Brown snapped his right leg in two places last season in almost identical fashion to Cisse's broken left leg in 2004.
Cisse, who like Brown had a rod inserted in his leg, played again after just 163 days. But he broke his right fibula and tibia 10 minutes into France's final World Cup warm-up clash with China on Thursday.
Cisse, 24, suffered his first broken leg while playing for Liverpool.
Richmond sought advice last year on Brown's rehabilitation and spoke to Liverpool club doctor Mark Waller about Cisse's recovery.
Brown has been given the green light to coach himself on his much-anticipated return today against the Kangaroos.
Brown sat out some of the contact drills at training yesterday, but assistant coach David King said he was ready to play.
He said the 28-year-old would mostly dictate his return to the Tigers forward line.
"There will be some sort of reduced scale in terms of minutes played but I think he'll dictate how many minutes he plays," King said.
"There'll be times when he goes up and plays high in the midfield and he'll probably play a little bit deep forward as well.
"It's up to him, he'll let us know how he's going."
