Richmond is in genuine crisis. It is losing money, games, a coach, its football department and, more than likely, sponsors. It also needs to lose a lot of players. Too many are over-paid and selfish.

This was the club of the long contracts and huge sums of money. They bank the dollars and play like paupers. Just look at them go about their business.

Football director Greg Miller has completed a review of the football department. The report will be tabled with the board on July 6. As reported exclusively in The Australian last month, there will be very few left standing.

At least the club has a new chief executive. Steven Wright comes highly recommended. He would want to because the task that confronts him appears enormous.

All around him men are plotting against the president Clinton Casey. People tell Casey one thing and sing a different story to others. The rebel group is keen to retain two current board members on their ticket to ensure a smooth transition.

And the day before the petition will be submitted. Great timing - Not!  ::)

I would reckon you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know what's in it.

Miller stays as Director of Football.
Goodbye coaching staff except maybe Flood.
Goodbye Beck and reorganize the recruiting efforts.
TTP reduced from 100% to 97%.
Delist Hilton, Fletcher, Houlihan, Fleming, Nichols, Blumfield, Weller, Marsh (?back-up ruckman).
Duncan, Rogers, Cambo (?) retire.
Gaspar a high trade priority. Possible other trades - Chaffey, Fiora, Zantuck, Rodan.

--------------------

Turner and Cameron would be the two board members picked to stay on by the alternative group.

As much as the Casey admin is guilty of signing long-term and high $$$ player contracts, remember that the previous admin under Daphne was too (Daffy, Knights, Richo, Cambo. First and second round draft picks for Biddiscombe and Hilton  :o).
