WP - which elite player is “solid” ?

And - who are the fat AFL players

Not sure I explained myself too well there

Good example of solid is Maddie Prespakis from Essendon who has won the AFLW's equivalent to the Brownlow. She is an elite player. But i think some would suggest she is "solid". As I posted before I'd be curious to know how you'd describe her?

I never said any AFL players were fat. I said there are some who don't look like a picture of fitness

Gotta say in his last 2 seasons Buddy Franklin didn't look incredibly fit, maybe it's those tight fitting guernseys these days  ;D

Just looked at photos of her

She’s fat
She isn’t solid .. she’s got fat guts

Imagine how good she’d be in peak fitness

There's a greater connection between fat levels and hormonal levels in the female anatomy. While there are obviously healthy slim fit women, not all healthy female body types fit that description. It can be just as unhealthy to have too low fat levels in the female body (that causes severe hormonal imbalance), as it is to have too high fat levels and be overweight. It's different to most of us blokes who put on weight just by putting too much food in our gob or not exercising enough.

McKenzie a a 'week by week' chance

RICHMOND coach Ryan Ferguson has said that the availability of star midfielder Ellie McKenzie will be a "week-by-week proposition" after his side fell to Adelaide on Friday night.

McKenzie, who registered 15 disposals and 325 metres gained in the Tigers' win over Brisbane last week, came off the ground with an ankle complaint in the dying minutes of the game, subsequently ruling her out of Friday's clash with the Crows.

"We're hopeful it won't be long," Ferguson said of McKenzie's expected time on the sidelines.

"She'll be a week-by-week proposition essentially, just going to see how (her ankle) continues to settle and how quickly we can get it going again. But it will literally be a week by week proposition, I think."

Richmond missed McKenzie in the contest against the Crows, with Monique Conti shouldering most of the load. Conti, with a game-high 29 disposals, won more than a third of the Tigers' clearances, while the next most in the yellow and black had three.

"We missed Ellie a little bit today for sure," Ferguson said.

"So, just to make sure we've got some more dynamic players in there, it's more the balance than anything. We'll play around with what that looks like if Ellie's in the team, if she's out of the team, how can we make sure we balance up in the midfield."

We just delisted a bloke for being too fat...same bloke I called out for it ...and there's also been a fair bit of commentary around MRJ's weight ...if women want to play a man's sport and be paid for it they should learn to cop the same shyte male players have since day one...can't have it both ways and  be all "they're just as tough as the blokes" one minute and "ooh don't dare criticise to poor delicate little females they might cry or develop an eating disorder" the next......  ::)

I think calling one of our senior men or women players fat seems stupid. Nobody playing AFL is fat. Some maybe overweight compared to ideal playing weight. Willie Rioli is but doesn't impact him having his best year.

You’re correct
Nobody playing AFL is fat
PLENTY playing AFLW are

And as for body shapes MT, what utter frogpoo

That girl WP mentioned that is a superstar , is deadset floppy fat .. that isn’t “body shape” .. that’s being unfit

I can still remember the commotion when Motlop came back from his turtle preseason fat .. ditto Dean Rioli .. there was no uproar when their conditioning was pointed out and photos everywhere shaming them

Personally and I follow the AFLW closely I suggest that of the over 530 players on AFLW lists less than 3% are overweight. I agree there are a number that don't look fit but I'd argue strongly that they are

The girl I mentioned is one of the best players in the AFLW and she is fit, her 2nd and 3rd efforts on the footy field prove it. She may not look it but she is.

I find it interesting that for people who don't watch AFLW the comments about what's wrong with game and the players continue to come thick and fast.

Solution is simple If you don't like it, don't enjoy it, then don't watch it

I don't
I don't
And, I don't

But the great thing is this, I can still have an opinion and comment on it ...

If they got fit, and improved (which I concede is happening slowly), then I might tune in and also be a bit more positive

As for Prespakis, imagine her second and third efforts if she was fit .. you can say she is, but the evidence (fat rolls) would disagree .. she might be an even better superstar .. just shows how much talent she actually has

Yep you can  :thumbsup

But just so I am clear on what you're suggesting

Unless a AFLW player has a flat stomach, they are overweight (refuse to use the term fat) and in no way can they  be considered fit?

An AFL player out of condition with the odd skinfold issue is simply unfit and cannot be overweight?

Or have I got that completely wrong?

If an AFL player is overweight, it’s absolutely unacceptable
It’s definitely an issue discussed in the media and by supporters … and we just delisted a bloke for this exact reason apparently

Side note , how ridiculous the word fat is now offensive .. we’ve gone PC mad as a country .. Australia has absolutely lost the plot
I’m fat , very fat .. yep overweight is fine to describe, but I’m fine with fat

Also , I didn’t say they need a flat stomach, I’m hardly requesting a 6-pack

I’m talking overweight, as in love handles and rolls of fat on the stomach

Lol at what people would say if Prespakis was a bloke and was in that “condition”

If she is a freak now, imagine her if totally fit

I suppose Sabrina Frederick was fit at Richmond .. 10kg overweight and ran like she was in quicksand
