Just so hard watching Grimes this year

Shadow of the player he was. Don't believe the captaincy has been good for him

Was staggered with the contract extension in what was it round 5 or 6?

Would strongly suggest he step down as Captain and just concentrate on his game

I gave him a 3

One of the best defenders I've ever seen but yeah, not a good year. Thought he played a bit better at times later in the year
I work in Africa and they were taking the pee out of me for saving Africa.......

He has been a true RFC champion, gives his all every game, struggled with injury, sadly the end is nigh, will probably go another year. Perhaps time to go to the winery and enjoy life.

I deigned not to vote.

I blame the idiots who thought it was a great idea to have 2 captains.

That rests with the coach at the time.

A bit like Jack. It's not his fault the idiots in charge didn't look to offer someone else a go to give him a chop out until the very last round  :shh

Ummm NO

The playing group has the most say in the selection of captain.  They vote, then the remainder of the footy department gives feedback and a recommendation goes to the board to be ratified.

So rather than doing your normal thing and go whack could you please deal in what's been documented.

Don't blame the coach or coaches redirect your venom at the players

so we believe everything that's been documented now?  :lol

i dont believe it im sorry. You are free to think the coach had no say in 1 or 2 captains. I dont.

if Dimma had any balls he would have said lets choose one captain and thats it.

I dont blame Grimesy at all for reasons stated above. He had an average year sure, but some said Jack did as well. We treated our champs like bums this year, esp those 2.

My final comments to you on this, seriously do you actually read things thoroughly before you reply

Never said the coach didn't have a say. I said the player group vote on the captain. This has been in place for years. It was introduced by the bloke who they bought in to improve leadership. (Can't remember his name)

Which bit of the entire footy department giving feedback didn't you understand

Finally, the how it's done has been explained to me by players. One of the perks of player sponsorship, you get ask about this sort of stuff if you're interested. So unless multiple players who have said the same thing are all lying then I keep believing if that's OK by you

Gave him a 2. Was a liability a lot of the times when the ball was near him. His direct opponent would shake him too easily as well.

Extremely sad because he was definitely one of my favourites and once upon a time he would torch Charlie Cameron

Half the player he was in 2019 .

You wouldn’t describe him as rock solid anymore.

And he’s hardly a “ come follow me - lead from the front “ captain.

Are you trying to insinuate it was a tied vote? If not, clearly the coaches decided to go with 2 captains. Yes the players vote, no one disputes that. FJ is talking about the choice of 2 captains

I think we all agree 2 captains is a poo idea

Without his reputation, he would have been dropped early this season and delisted at seasons end.
I think Tom Jonas at Port is a very relevant parallel.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
