Burning question will be will Greiser be able to contest a mark or a ruck contest

She did give out a sensational HB that gave us the goal that gave us the lead  ;D

Is Gabby Seymour injured? She looked sore after the game.

She copped a knock to her shin in the last 4 minutes and was helped off the ground by trainers. They are hoping she gets up but I'm not at all confident

AFLW Injury Report: Round 5

The latest injury update from High Performance Manager Eliza Morrison ahead of Friday's Round 5 clash with Fremantle at Ikon Park.

Jess Hosking, ankle

"Jess had surgery this week for her syndesmosis injury in her ankle. She is home resting now and we will do everything we can to have Jess available late in the season."

Rebecca Miller, finger

"Rebecca injured her finger in our Captain's Run prior to our Round 4 clash against Carlton. Unfortunately once examined prior to the game, it was not in a state to play and she was a late out. She had surgery this week and we will get a return to play timeline early next week when she has her follow up appointment with the surgeon."

Ellie McKenzie, ankle

"Ellie is still waiting for her bone to heal. It is settling well and we are working through progressions in the gym and through rehab."

Sarah D'Arcy, hamstring

"Sarah strained her hamstring during our Round 3 game against GWS. She is pain free now and will continue to work through progressions in the gym until she is strong enough to return to run."

Meagan Kiely, back

"Meagan full trained this week and her back has settled well. She will be exposed to match play through managed minutes in the scrimmage this Friday with the hope to be fully fit and available for selection next round."

Charley Ryan, foot

"Charley is full training and we are really happy with how she is tracking. As planned, we are hoping to expose her to match play through managed minutes in the scrimmage this Friday with the hope to be fully fit and available for selection in the coming weeks."

Lilly Pearce, toe

"Lilly has been managing some big toe pain. She will be exposed to match play through managed minutes in the scrimmage this Friday with the hope to be fully fit and available for selection in the coming weeks."

R5 preview - Richmond vs Fremantle

By Gemma Bastiani
womens.afl
28 September 2023

Fremantle will be disappointed with its 20-point loss to Essendon last week, falling away late in the game after going toe-to-toe with the Bombers for the first half, while Richmond had the opposite experience, breaking free of Carlton late in the game to claim the win. The Dockers want to play a contested game and get the ball on the boot to gain ground, whereas the Tigers are more focused on using their strong defence to rebound through the corridor. The run and carry, handball game Richmond plays when at its best is close to unbeatable, and it is something that has the potential to unsettle a typically stable Fremantle defence.

Both sides will be without important star players - Kiara Bowers for Fremantle, and Ellie McKenzie and Bec Miller for Richmond - but they have also been able to adapt this year without those contributors to still post wins. Where they have fallen, however, is in third terms. Richmond is yet to win a third quarter this year, while Fremantle has won just one, so whichever side can get a stranglehold after the main break will be best placed to claim victory.

Tip: The Tigers will have just a bit too much run. Richmond by 10 points.

Being beaten in the 50/50 contests. Falling down going inside F50 and defence is really missing Miller. Poor start.

Jones with the set shot 25 out. Goes around the body rather than drop punt and misses badly  :P.

Not switched on today. Again, poor defensively & soft in the contest and we just cough it up.
