So doesn't anyone rate next years draft? Is it really that crap because north will likely be handing us a top 5 pick

It's okay IMO

I think will target the talks after pick 10. Get the elite midfielders and a nice Rioli replacement and then target the talls. Plenty of value there, Shanahan, Faull, Sims ,Whitlock etc.

If we are targetting the talks after pick 10 then expect a few of the extroverts like Dattoli to get picked by us.

I’m taking this too and pretty quickly at that.

Although I expect North to be better (surely they can’t be worse), I can’t see them being better than 5 other teams which means that at worst we’ll be getting 2 & 6 (2025 pick), for 6 and 11.

No brainer for me.

Exactly how I look at it

And not inconceivable they finish bottom 3

North Melbourne’s reported pick-swap offer to rival

Aidan Cellini

North Melbourne is reportedly open to offering Richmond its prized Pick 2 - and a future first-round selection - for picks 6 and 11 in next month's National Draft, according to the Herald Sun.

The Kangaroos' first pick has long been linked with a switch to a rival, with the Tigers believed to be keen to snare the first two selections in this year's draft.

Head of Football talent Brady Rawlings admitted shortly after the end of the trade period that after utilising Picks 24 and 44 to secure Caleb Daniel, Luke Parker and Jacob Konstanty during the trade period, they were "light on" with selections.

However, Rawlings was open to using Pick 2 to help slide down the order, as well as the club's future pick.

"There's options with the two," Rawlings said last week.

"There's options with our future hand. We've got future one, two, three and four still up our sleeves.

"We can trade all the way up until draft night. We can trade on the night.

"So we'll keep exploring ways to improve our draft hand."

Such a deal would allow North Melbourne to target key position talents in a midfield-heavy draft.

Alix Tauru has been heavily linked to the club while key forward Harry Armstrong could also be a player on interest for the Kangaroos to assist Nick Larkey and Cam Zurhaar.

On the other side of the coin, Richmond could be left with seven early selections — picks 1, 2, 10, 19, 20, 23 and 24 — along with two first-round picks next year.

The Tigers would be keen to bolster their midfield stocks and would be eyeing the likes of Jagga Smith, Sam Lalor and Murphy Reid.

Richmond would also like to bring in key position players at either end, with Armstrong and Luke Trainor posing as the best talls in the crop.

Clubs can trade picks leading up to and during the draft.

The 2024 National Draft will take place on November 20 and 21.

Are the mock drafts saying we will trade out for a future pick? Only 7 picks used instead of 8?

I'm of the opinion pick 6 isn't that far off pick 2, and picks 10, 11 and 18 will have a 200 gamer in them.

I'd happily take

1. FOS
6. Smillie
10. Armstrong/Shanahan
11. Travaglia
18. Hotton/Faull

I'm not sure I'd be trading both Smillie and Faull for a Smith or Lalor. The top 6 are all potential top 10 players in the comp. Just not sure we need to upgrade it.

Basically pick

Heard a good call regarding upgrading picks 6 and 18 to pick 2...

Basically ends up being

Richmond get Pick 2 and 23

for

Rioli and Picks 32, 42, 43, 45, 51, 61, 70 and 76

Be a very good outcome finishing with pick 2 with Rioli leaving and giving up 8 picks after pick 32. Steal really. I just think its a deep draft that pick 6 and 18 are going to be best 22 players for only a marginally better player at 2 from 6.
Go Tigers!

If that deal with the kangas is legit and I really haven’t seen it reported outside of that 1 article above so I’m very skeptical, we should be all over it.

Pick 1, 2, 10, 18, 20, 23 & 24 this year and then we’d likely have 2 top 5 picks next year with our pick and the kangas future 1st and all for pick 6 and 11 - where do we sign?
