I'd be bidding on anyone worth a bid.

Other clubs can get stuffed.

It's a competition, not a collaboration.

We aren't fair dinkum if we don't discuss with Brisbane our intentions to bid on him at 1 unless they give us overs for pick swaps to get enough points. It's draft tampering but as if it wouldn't happen on the sly.

Agree that we won't pick Ashcroft and we take Lions first round picks for picks in the 30s.

Correct. Bid on all of 'em - Ashcroft, Northern Academy kids, Kako, Camporeale twins etc.... :shh

Let’s make sure we tank and finish last because that has worked out sooooooooo well for clubs in the past and because the no.1 pick this year is rated soooooooooo much better than pick 2

Or split P1! Worth more.

Better options.

Nothing to be proud of finishing 17th either IMO.

Absolutely there isn’t. It’s crap either way but we shouldn’t be actively trying to lose, to move up 1 single spot in the draft.

I saw the other day that in the AFL era, there have only be 4 no.1 picks that have won a premiership and 1 of those was Boyd who didn’t even win it with the team he was selected by lol

Agree except for the cheap shot at the end. No need for that nonsense

Name one team that found success doing this.. since the draft inception.. I cannot think of 1.
Harley Reid has been the best first pick in history... How much have the Eagles improved!?!?!
How's north going? Been down the bottom for a while!!
Draft position is so over rated

Lol I must have missed the snipped part. Did I really get insulted for wanting my team to win? What a world we live in.

I'd expect us to bid on Ashcroft. Unless we do some agreement not to and them look after us with some pick swapping for points.

The other benefit to this is our player won't have the pressure of pick 1. Daicos was free without the tag of pick 1. It's shown that it's a heavy burden.
