It's actually crazily possible we have the following picks.

1, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 19, 24

To be adjusted for compo, F/S, academy and priority picks.
Rioli for 6 and 15
Bolton for 9, 10
Baker for 12 (WCE get 12 from Hawks for Barrass)
Late picks (points for Ashcroft) to Lions for Pick 18
Late picks (points for Lombard) to Suns for pick 24.

Let's say Battle gets Saints a compo pick after their 1st pick.
Add Ashcroft and Lombard in 1st round.
Add NM 2 priority picks at start of 2nd round.

Picks end up
1, 6, 10, 11, 13, 16, 19, 21, 26
(Ashcroft and Lombard locked to BL and GC)

7 first round picks, 9 in top 30 would be best draft hand in history. I can't recall an expansion club having better. Some had picks 1 and 2 but this is unmatched.

Won’t happen
Not a chance
If we have that draft hand or even close, I’ll flap my arms and fly to the moon

It seems crazy.

But apart from the exchange of late picks for F/S and academy the trades in isolation seem possible. It's just a rare occurrence that we have 3 valuable players wanting to leave and we are in a phase of needing draft picks. It may happen.

I was just looking at the points for each pick.

Lions and Carlton may be in deep trouble.

Lions currently have 1466 points. If Ashcroft gets an offer at 1 (given he's tipped as the best) lions need 2400 with a 20% discount.
Blues currently have 2197 points. They cant get both Camporeale boys if they get high bids.
Wouldn't think Lions or Blues future firsts will be worth much considering they're possibly top four next year.
eg Freo's 9 or 10 this year are likely to be better than Lions first next year = 14 for 4th spot.

Interesting.
Will Richmond and/or North bid on these three.

Remember they're allowed to go into point deficit for their 2025 draft hands

I dream about getting 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 18, 19, 24..

Means trading Lynch to Melbourne for pick 5 as well.
They need a key forward now.
We pay 2/3 of next year.
Lynch only has about 2 or 3 years left even if fit and wont play finals for the next couple of years if all the others leave.

It all sounds good, but considering not many draft picks play in their first year, round 1 against Carlton will be a massacre.
Our remaining players will all have come in 1 car as there are only so many disabled parking spots available.
Anyway, very interesting times ahead

Still think people are being crazy optimistic but hey its almost the silly season.

If i could split pick 1 for 4 and 8 id do it. Not sure how you get that done so will leave it.

Pick 6 and 9 would be my aim and priority to get in player trades.

The top ten has its fair share of similar mids around 180 - 182cm. so pick 1 one  on one of  Lalor, Smillie and Langford.
. Then 6 goes on maybe Draper or the best of thats left of the smaller mids. They include Draper, Smith, Reid, Osullivan Ashcroft. 9 goes on Armstrong and 12  back to the mids or a real classy speedy  hb to replace Rioli or classy small forward.

I think a more realistic net would be
Rioli for 6 and 20 or 26.
Bolton for  9 and 17. Id be happy to get 9 and their future first.
Baker for possibly 12 Barass, and we flip them a decent pick  as they will want something back if its pick 12.
Graham may get what 22 more likely  40 odd   depending on contract.

Bundling of picks well we may have to give more than what we get because there will be competition for picks.

Collingwood have a very poor draft hand we could offer two picks in the twenties for their future first.

What ever we do we should have a very strong draft hand

Agree, unless we do something really stupid like trade in Petracca via the YZE connection, but they couldn’t be that stupid could they !?!?!?

Melb are in limbo. They have guns lke Viney and Gawn still contracted wanting to win, but if they lose Oliver and Trec, they are in no mans land. If they keep them then sure they may go for Lynch. No way they give up 5 ina. strong draft for a guy who has max 2 years left and 50% of each of those seasons is likely to be in rehab based off last 3 years.

Lynch I'd hate to say won't get anthing higher then a 2nd rounder, and we'd have to pay some of his wage.

Re: Bolton and Rioli, is there any chance they signed long-term deals to benefit RFC in a trade scenario?

Gives us better bargaining power.

So similar to what we paid for hopper Claw? No chance.

We hold all the cards not Dimma. 2 firsts and picks going back for Lombard.

If Dimma wants to play hardball then Dan can stay. He signed a contract so he can leave only when we are satisfied, and I wouldn't be with a second pick that low.

Remember when Freo got pick 2 or 3 from GC for Lachie Weller....

They had a player that actually wanted to go to them and they paid way overs.

I hope our guys screw them over, GC want him, so pay up.
And you may not think I care for you

Just thinking about what I want and it may be way out of whack but....

Want about four inside the first 8 or 10 with pros and cons.

O'Sullivan - Very, very smart player bur will need physical development to cope with the hits.
Smith - gets a LOT of the ball but does he hurt with all that ball.
Smillie - a big body mid but seems a bit flaky or inconsistent.
Lalor - a beast and hardworking but does he get enough of the ball.

We have a chance to get some mids in the first 10 picks and then go big forwards in the 20's.
Want a couple or three bigs and think the Whitlocks, Dodson, Faull, Sims and Mraz will be there in the early 20's.
Haven't really looked at Armstrong but reported we're keen
