Trent’s book , Jacks book .

Both a good read - in my case a good listen on audible 😂

There were a few “chapters” I had forgotten about - like when Jack commented we were trying to copy Hawthorn.

Also , when Brooke Cotchin got slammed for her “mistake “ in the Gold Coast hub . It was interesting hearing the events surrounding that .

Both are committed family men - that comes through loud and clear .

Hearing their thoughts on their decline was an interesting perspective too .

Overall I would say Jack’s book  was a more light hearted . Trent’s went a little deeper, however he’s such a schoolboy 😂

Did it change your perspective on either of them?

If yes, how?

Jack is a bit of a hero to me so I would hope to come out of that book with the same sort of feeling.

Cotchin I am less emotionally attached to tbh.

From the excerpts which have been shared in the media to promote the book, Jack’s seems like it was written from the heart with use of language which is quintessentially jack whereas Trent’s a bit robotic and could have been written by chatgpt.

Am I way off the mark?

I’m a divorced father - similar vintage to Dimma , so I have some understanding and sympathy over the complexity of that situation . So hearing Trent’s idealistic views on marriage and family -while noble, I found moderately sanctimonious….but maybe I’m projecting my own issues.
Trent always had a reputation as being a Boy Scout- this book does nothing to diminish this character trait .

What was interesting - he knew his place in the team wasn’t guaranteed in his final year .

Jacks book I felt was more light hearted, tales of his childhood in Tasmania. Self deprecating humour.

He really struggled injury wise in his final year ( as did Trent ) - it’s remarkable he played as many games as he did

Another thing - Brooke Cotchin , took the “day spa fiasco “ really hard after a lot of online criticism.

Trent painted a picture of her mental health after the event - it wasn’t good .

However there’s a part of me wondering if people are so sensitive- why not take a break from social media.

For some social media is an addiction

Well there's a clear link between poor mental health and social media use so I'm not surprised.

Best thing you can do it reduce it.

I only use FB but I never post on my profile. Watch a few recipes, comedy skits, sports pages, look for firewood on marketplace etc.

Don't give a toss what anyone is doing and I don't share what I'm doing.
