Root cause of everything that's gone wrong since '21 and the easiest to fix....address this problem, add some speed and everything else will fall into place.... :shh

Not able to get first possession or force turnover, extremely poor skills by hand or foot, poor tackling intent and technique, poor execution of game plan.

...........not a great start.

You'd think that we could have at least one of these at a minimum that was already at a reasonable level so we could have something to work with. I think pressure and tackling would be the easiest non negotiable to make ready by round 1.
I wonder what we've been doing all preseason.

Get the Storm’s tackling coaches back at the club. Is not hard….
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

The Tackle: Proof inexcusable Tigers need to harden up

Richmond recorded the lowest tackle count of 2024 against Port Adelaide. Was it because they didn’t want to defend, or because they couldn’t?

Why would you tackle? They don’t get rewarded anymore.

1. You tackle someone who has the ball, they drop the ball and you continue the tackle and get pinged for holding the man.
2. You tackle someone and get pinged for being too forceful
3. You tackle someone and they duck, you get pinged for a head high
4. You tackle someone they fall forward, you get pinged for in the back

Stupid game really

Forgot
5. You tackle someone and your hand drop below the knees, you get pinged for legging

You don't need to tackle to get a HTB free anymore.

Just watch dusty. If you get the ball and they bump or knock the ball out you're screwed, prior or not

Players second guessing themselves because they're not confident of the umpiring is a part of it....technique of lack thereof still the major issue though.... :shh

The solution Don't tackle BUMP. oHHHH thats right lay a near perfect bump and you get 7 weeks because you happen to be a bit bigger.
