Smarter would be:

Out
Short
Dow
Kosi

In
Ryan
Hopper
Grimes

Providing the senior blokes are fit and we want to win

So you think Pickett, McIntosh Young and Ralphsmith will make a difference?

No reason why Dow shouldn't be given more time to cement his spot. With Hopper coming back in, McAuliffe was always going to struggle to keep his spot, especially coming off a poor game against WC. We would have lost midfield balance with all 3 as inside mids in the team. Positive to see McIntosh on the bench and Ralphsmith named in the team - a step in the right direction as Macca is eased out of the side. Banks in for Short makes some sense, role for role.

Would have preferred Ryan to Naismith as I reckon he's in form and a better forward option than Nank or Naismith. If it wasn't for Gawn I think we would have gone that way.

Then we need to pee off the assistants and Hardwick-Mini era remnants that we should've peeed off last year instead of trying save money on the football department....either way it indicates Yze is either gutless or clueless or both if he's going along with these at best uninspired and at worst downright idiotic selections.... :shh

Personally no issue with Naismith getting a run.

Reckon his selection means more time forward for Nank

Staggered around Sonsie being omitted. Give me him over Hugo any day

Although disappointed with the McAuliffe omission part of me understands it. He was poor against the Eagles but having said that I'd rather see kids getting opportunities. I'm a Sam Banks fan but gee reckon he is very lucky.

Genuinely surprised Pickett kept his sport after his selfish efforts against the Eagles

Have to admit I'm pretty disillusioned with our Club at the minute. It hasn't been a great week for it...this week's selections have just topped it off  :-\

No way no Macca and Pickett should stay in instead of Sonsie and McAuliffe. Ryan kicked 7 goals in the last 2 vfl games should be in that side playing as a forward ruck reward form.

On to who picks the side is Tim Livingstone having to much influence.

Neither of those have the tank for the wing tho? Can't just pick blokes and then work out the positions later.

Yeah what will we ever do without Sir Runsalot with his flapping arms,  turnstile tackling & hack kicks to no-one, losing every contest...meanwhile a used car yard somewhere is missing one of it's inflatable men.... :shh

Why not just pick the pair of them as MIDS.
Its not as if we dont have other wing options.

Just play Kane he has played the equivalent of just three full games all year. He will be better for each run how in hell Dow got picked in front of him after the god awful year he has had is beyond me.
Just give him a good block of games and give him a decent go in those games.

In a way im glad Sonsie and McAuliffe are not playing this game at least they cant be made the scape goats if we cop a belting which at this point in time is likely.

You want wings well Yze himself said he would look at Rioli to play there if need be. Time to stop rewarding mediocrity with McIntosh and Pickett and do it and if hes so scared of playing kids there play Rioli and Broad.

Hmm some decent match ups about as good as we could ask and none of the very disappointing non performing seniors.

I think grimes is cooked to, but it’s not like he’s taking another youngsters spot like some of the other senior players. Looking at the team for the vfl game, and there’s only 1 afl listed player named in the back half, being kaleb smith which is hardly a like for like swap with grimesy.

It's not a matter of a swap, it's a matter of getting games and experience, which are invaluable to the kids. Wins losses for now mean nothing. It's about real development, in the system not in the vfl
