Hopper (hammy) will be a forced out as he rejoins our long injury list after only one game back  :P.

Jon Ralph on Fox Footy said Short may be back next week but Balta and Prestia are at least 2 weeks away.

INS: Sonsie, Smith, Ryan****

OUTS: Hopper (inj), Pickett (susp), Naismith

**** I'd bring in Ryan but can see them bringing in Kosi.

 I'd also bring back McAuliffe for Banks but they shot themselves in the foot by not playing McAuliffe in the VFL yesterday

Out Banks. Cannot stand soft players. Needs to spend weeks at VFL working on hardness, intensity etc. If he Cannot improve those parts of his game then delist. Makes early Hugo look tough.

Hopper (inj) -> Sonsie
Kmac -> McAuliffe
Banks -> Short
Naismith -> Ryan

However, I fear they will drop a cub like Campbell after one poor game.

Well seeing Marlion didn't get suspended he won't be and out. So no debut for Smith this week

And BTW I wouldn't bring in Short either. Calf injuries can be tricky, come back to early do it again and it's another 4-6  weeks. Besides he's been horribly out of form

We just need to play the like of McAuliffe, Smith, Green and Ryan. What have we got to lose. Give them match experience for next year. No point wasting time picking Naismith, McIntosh, Grimes and others etc etc. Our season is cooked. I want to enjoy watching the youth for the remainder of 2024. Having said that these kids have to compete and be hard in the contest. That's all we ask. You want to play AFL. Get tough immediately.

Kind of agree, to an extent.  It's been proven over the years that it's better to bring young players through in competitive teams, rather than expose them to constant demoralising defeats. You learn faster in competitive games and situations. So you need a good mix of experienced players and young players, rotate them through in blocks of games if possible.
