Yze's post-game presser
« on: May 11, 2024, 11:11:26 PM »
Yze's presser.

* Disappointing. Execution and method off early. Couldn't get our game going and the Dogs played really well and smashed us in the contest.

* Graham - same hammy.
* Banks - he's up and about in the rooms.
* Maurice - hoping it's just a rolled ankle but with ankles need to check if it's syndesmosis.

* Can't fault our effort. It's our execution and method. Sometimes it seems we are trying too hard. Saw that with us slipping over and missing tackles.

* First possession numbers were +15 but we were -10 on clearances. That's method.

* Attempted tackle numbers were okay but we had low tackle numbers because we missed too many. Again technique and method.

* Sonsie moved into the middle on Bont in the last. Gives him experience.

* Praised Bolton's second half going into the middle as well as his leadership.

I found plenty of fault with the effort from numerous players so not sure what game he was watching. If that's his take from the game then we definitely have a confirmed drop in standards and that is a concern moving forward.

Sorry Adem but you can fault effort as there was none

Time to give 'em a bake rather than coming into your presser and dishing up dribble like that

And BTW an apology to the members and supporters wouldn't go astray

At least he's finally acknowledged the tackling issues....but the slipping over was from "trying too hard" Lmao - Effort? More like F...It #proudoftheboys :shh

Yep, effort and intensity non existent tonight.

Gave up too easy so often.

How we got up and did what we did against the Swans is remarkable.

But it shows what's possible with effort and intensity to push the pressure rating up.

Thought this too. First time I thought Yze has interim coach written all over him. I'm not upset about the result, in fact don't expect us to win any games for the rest of the year but you can't accept tonights display, even in growth years there needs to be a standard set and the falling over, the lack of pressure was evident.

Pathetic what effort we we're witches hats out there like a training drill no pressure,  tackling and don't get me started on skills and kicking borderline amature level. We keep backing the same senior players who a past it to.

What is this talk of method and technique. Is it yze’s job to teach the basics to afl players ? Do they not know how to tackle ? Not even the experienced players who’ve been around for years ?

A loss like that shows the real lack of talent we have atm

I’ve always thought supporters asking for an apology over a poor performance is such an entitled thing to do.

Everyone chooses who they want to support, whether they want to buy a membership and whether they want to attend games.

Our team is crap atm for a variety of reasons. If you can’t stand to watch it, then don’t.

Agree, in good and bad , always watch. And I've never left a game early. Nothing wrong with having an opinion during the good and the bad times.. but I've never ever left a game early. Even that horror show against Geelong years ago, sat to the end and made my four kids sit by me and suffer together .
