I’ll be going to this game. Just show the effort that we did against the dons and I’ll be happy.

I'm heading down the highway

Just a 35 minute trip.

Show what they did against the Bombers and it's a positive.

And we're a very sneaky show, long shot but a sneaky long shot

Guess Graham in for Prestia is like for like - both just as likely to ping a hammy before halftime.... :shh

Tigers’ burning question: What level of competitiveness will we see in Geelong?

Following a pair of almighty beatings at the hands of the Bulldogs and Lions, we witnessed a much-needed response from Richmond last Saturday in a gallant loss to Essendon. Specifically, there was an improvement in pressuring the opponent and attack on the ball. However, Adem Yze’s men couldn’t punish the Bombers in the same way they punished the Tigers. This Saturday, Richmond travels to play Geelong at the Cattery. It’s not a venue Richmond has historically had success playing at — its last win at Kardinia Park was in Round 9, 2006. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t compete with the same ferocity they did for most of Dreamtime at the ‘G. They will have to attempt to be competitive without mercurial forward-midfielder Shai Bolton, who entered concussion protocols after a heavy collision with teammate Mykelti Lefau, though they might benefit from the returns of Jack Graham (hamstring) and Rhyan Mansell (concussion).

I fear this game might go the way of the recent trip to Brisbane.

Geelong might take this opportunity to beat up on us to wallpaper over recent cracks .

This is going to be an incredibly youthful Richmond team , I just hope they bring effort.

I’m relieved their midfield is not at full strength- that is one area we should be able to compete.

Richmond fired-up for rare away trip to Geelong

Oliver Caffrey
AAP
Fri, 31 May 2024

Richmond are embarking on their first trip to Geelong since 2017 with "nothing to lose" as the Tigers attempt to capitalise on the Cats' four-game losing streak.

After being crunched by the Western Bulldogs and the Brisbane Lions in consecutive weeks in May, Richmond were competitive in a tight Dreamtime defeat to high-flying Essendon last Saturday night.

Superstar Dustin Martin was back to his scintillating best against the Bombers and has loved feasting on Geelong in the past.

The Tigers will be without fellow gun Shai Bolton (concussion) and veteran Dion Prestia (managed) but regain premiership midfielder Jack Graham from injury.

Coach Adem Yze said the Tigers (1-10) would "play on that" when asked about taking on under-fire Geelong as massive underdogs.

"We're going down there with nothing to lose," Yze said.

"We haven't played down there for a while so that's exciting in itself.

"We're going to have to create our own intensity and an energy, so having nothing to lose can be a scary thing (for the opposition)."

Yze will again coach from the bench after a successful match on the sidelines against the Bombers.

"I felt like I could help the players stay engaged ... if we lose momentum, how we can step back in and stay in the moment," he said.

Geelong coach Chris Scott insisted the Cats weren't panicking even amid his worst losing streak since starting at the club back in 2011.

The Cats have lost two successive games at GMHBA Stadium for the first time since 2015.

"I've actually been really happy with the last couple of weeks in the way our players have approached it," Scott said.

"I didn't think we were flying at the start of the year, even though the scoreline was 7-0, and I don't think the last month has been a disaster, either.

"If we hit our straps there's going to be a bad time to play us as well. It's (an) uncomfortably tight (season)."

The Certainties for Round 12 - Geelong versus Richmond

Nic Negrepontis
SEN
1 June 2024

Stewart for 20+ disposals

Tom Stewart has played some of the best games of his career against Richmond and he will feast on the understrength Tigers.

Stewart has been tagged in recent weeks, but will enjoy some greater freedom this weekend and is a lock for 20 touches.

Lefau kicks a goal

Lefau has quickly emerged as a player the Tigers can persist with long-term. He's kicked a goal in four of his last five weeks and is growing week on week.

Expect him to hit the scoreboard again this weekend against a Geelong side that has not been at its best for a month now.

Family flies over from WA for what will likely be 15 minutes of footy assuming Graham doesn't ping his hammy again early on.... :shh
