Yze's post-game presser:

Richmond coach Adem Yze said he could not doubt his team's effort on Saturday night but the Dockers' polish proved too much to overcome.

Yze said the Tigers would consider playing Graham in run-with roles through the latter stages of the season after he limited Serong's effectiveness through the first half.

Brownlow medallist Dustin Martin has not been ruled out of next Sunday's clash against Greater Western Sydney with a back injury, but his availability will depend on how he is feeling early in the week.

"We've got an eight-day break now, so we'll just be based on his body and if he walks in on Monday or Tuesday and feels like he can train. That's how we have to manage him."

Richmond coach Adem Yze said he could not doubt his team's effort in Saturday night's 51-loss loss against Fremantle at Optus Stadium, but the Dockers' polish proved too much to overcome.

"Our execution wasn't at the level tonight, or as good as theirs was," Yze said post-match.

"Their polish forward of the ball was a lot better than ours was, (we had) missed opportunities."

I will.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Not sure what people really want him to say.

Post-dynasty team on the slide.

Best players all ageing badly.

Poor draft picks lately so not a lot of talent coming in.

Big contracts to finish up, hence minimal FA options.

He's really doing a decent job of playing some kids (although I hate the sub debuts) and securing a better draft hand.

Probably not a good look for him to go to a presser and bag our boys. He also probably needs some media coaching because he doesn't seem like a natural.

He’s obviously nervous because it’s hard to spin such a bad situation for the club. You’re right, he doesn’t talk like that outside of press conferences. I think just give him time
To grow into the job. Dimma still hasn’t figured out press conferences and still has his same
Catch phrases.

We also continued to suck under him for a while too.

Many wanted him sacked at 2016.

Yze has been here hardly more than a year and I don't think any coach should be sacked in less than 3+ years myself.

Agreed. Also had a discussion the other day over how after a year he can really implement the changes he wants. He came into a club with a lot of veterans who could be stuck in their ways and it’s hard to change everything all at once. I think he will get to make some big
Decisions this off-season to help us play his brand of footy. If there aren’t the list changes that we all want to see then we know we’re in trouble.

Another year of pain next year can set us up

No point middling

Contend for a flag or get the best available kids before tassie dilutes the talent pool

I agree Sim but he doesn't seem tough at all. At least with Dimma he knew what he wanted from day one.

Let's see how he goes after a second year, though what's more important is off field and right now we seem like a basket case with Luke destroying most things he touches, and a ceo who is thinking of other things. Some assistant coaches who  really should be moved on.

That's a good start.
