Game has been pushed back by an hour. Seriously, so what! People can really whinge…..
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Why does  the an issue with a match in Tassie , effect the start time  for our game ?

So the matches don't clash or overlap which would upset the broadcasters who pretty much finance the competition.... :shh

The issue is electrical workers in Tassie are on strike so if the lights were to out at the ground they can't be fixed

So our game got moved not ot the other game on at the same time down at Geelong

While I get how much money the broadcasters put into the game not all decisions made about the game should not solely be about appeasing the broadcasters

Broadcasters want crowds, it enhances their product, empty stadiums don't

And delaying the game by an hour will make a massive difference to the crowd?

Yes it will impact crowd numbers at 2 games and possibly 3 if you count the NRL game across the road that I know a number of Tiger fans were going to at the completion of 2.10pm AFL game.

We weren't going to get a massive crowd anyway but this will decrease the number no doubt.

I wouldn’t think it will make a difference in crowd size to the volume of effecting TV aesthetics

If you haven't got anything else on or were just watching the game on foxtel , it wouldn't matter of course , as it doesn’t effect you .

Funny you mention aesthetics

For the past 2 weeks while we've been at comic book stadium, the top level of GA seating on the broadcast side was closed and people were directed to opposite side to improve the look of the crowd for TV purposes

I’m heading up, it’s a great day weather and excited for the game. Not so much the game itself but moreso to farewell some champs.

Why? Kids sport finishes around 1ish, I’d be thinking a few families  might be rocking up / lovely day to farewell a once a generation talent plus a triple premiership player.

Why?

Multiple reasons, not limited too

Regional travels becomes harder, later finish means late trip home, some won't bother

Some people will have made evening plans expecting the game to finish before 5pm

But whatever, ot will be what it will be

Will happily put my hand up and say I was wrong if they get a big crowd today

Great to see so many young kids here, early afternoon football  makes it accessible for the little kids
