...Thank you, Kane Lambert

Kane Lambert will depart Richmond to pursue a career away from football in 2025.

Richmond assistant coach Kane Lambert has informed the Club of his desire to pursue a career away from football in 2025.

Lambert, 32, officially joined the football department as a development coach for the 2023 season after he announced his retirement from playing in 2022.

The former triple-premiership Tiger was elevated to a line-coaching position for the final month this season.

Richmond General Manager, Football Performance- Tim Livingstone said Lambert was looking to depart football for a new professional experience.

"Kane has been considering this move for some time, and we are fully supportive of his desire to grow both personally and professionally away from the game,” Livingstone added.

“Richmond has been such a significant part of Kane’s life for the past decade, and he is looking forward to spending more time with his partner Abbey, son Louis, and the pending addition to the Lambert clan.

"Kane made an enormous contribution on the field, however perhaps the greatest legacy he leaves are the behaviours and values he has modelled that have helped shape this football club's culture.”

Lambert was recruited to Richmond as a mature-aged recruit in the 2014 AFL Rookie Draft and played 135 games for the Club before becoming a coach.

Good - the less remnants from the Halfstep post dynasty era the better.... :clapping

p.s. Might wanna edit the thread title....not sure why we'd wanna thank a GWS development coach....maybe in the future after Tom Green wins the Norm Smith in our 2029 flag....  :shh

Champion guy, I find this decision interesting. It wasnt long ago Kane was tauted as a seriously high quality prospect to coach.

Things change and nothing wrong with that. But it's not an amazing look for the club with so many leaving.
Go Tigers!

A bloke putting his family first, nothing strange about that IMHO

So 2 assistants out (so far), caracella to come in so there’s still 1 more to come in. If it’s an external appointment then you’d be left with a 50-50 split of assistants who came in post yze (including caracella in this half) and those that were already there.
