Have wondered the last week how much different things would have been this season if they went with McQualter rather than Yze

Totally irrelevant now obviously but does make me wonder

I think we’d just be in a cycle of mediocrity honestly. I like to hear that senior players have been disgruntled, it means there’s change occurring. Are the disgruntled players the ones leaving though? Could see Bolton throwing a tantrum as he does on the field nearly every game.. could see Graham finally having a gut full and leaving after teasing for a number of years. Can’t see baker being too disgruntled, same with Rioli. So it’s interesting. You’d think the disgruntled players are probably still at Richmond next year

Things would be largely the same and we'd be criticising the club for not looking further for a better option than Mini.

The list has aged significantly, the hunger isn't there in older players, the younger ones don't have the exposure & experience you'd expect in a less recently-successful club, and we would still be ravaged by injuries due to bad luck and/or Meehan.

Possibly less cheer leading?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Think we forget that the side was really poor under Dimma in his last year. I don't think we'd be any different with any other coach. We need a rebuild, Taranto and Hopper were not enough to avoid the cliff and we are at were we are at.

I don't think Yze will last long but for this period I genuinely believe he was best person available.

I honestly think we will look back at this transition period and be enormously grateful we were able to invest heavily into multiple top end talent before the Tassie concessions come in. Let's also not forget that mature age players will be poached as well. So teams like Saints, GC (Heaven forbid poor AFL love child), GWS, Hawks will likely have some gun players targeted just as GWS and GC were able to do (Ablett, Ward, H.Shaw, Bock etc.). Apart from Balta I doubt we will have anything worth taking that can be poached out talent will be all under 21. Meaning we might be the luckiest positioned club over the next 5 years to be able to rebuild fully where as those who rebuilt after us will be severely constrained by Tassie.

Interesting take, though i really think Tassie would not be overly interested in the vast majority of players we currently  have on the list.

Doubt there'll be a rush of blokes wanting to go there...they'll take whatever experience they can get especially if they're home grown two heads of which we have a few and they're all quite expendable... :shh

Nope they won't but our talent value will be in ages that are untouchable to Tassie free agency priority. Where as teams like Hawks may have someone like a Weddle, or Saints have a Wilson who can be poached. A 20 year old Jagga Smith won't be able to be poached.
