Sarah Hosking, hamstring

"Sarah was pulled from the (Week 9) game in the final minutes. She has a pretty significant hamstring injury. We took her for a scan yesterday, so we'll have a good review of that today with the doctor and with Sarah herself, and then we'll see what her plan is going forward. But, she won't be available for selection this week."

Bec Miller, hamstring tightness

"Bec developed hamstring tightness late in the third quarter. After consultation with the doctor and the physio, we thought it was best for her not to return to the game, just to risk anything further happening. She's pulled up really well from the flight and from what she presented yesterday. So, we're hoping that she'll be right to get through training today (Tuesday), and we'll test her really well on Thursday and just make sure she's good to go. But, she's tracking quite well."

Imogen Brown, ankle

"Imogen returned to scrimmage on the weekend, which was great. She managed to get through a full scrimmage game so will be up for selection again this week."

"(They) were able to come to Darwin with us on the weekend, which was really good. For that balance of them being around the team, but also having access to our physios and doctors while they were away. So, they got some really good sessions in while they were away and were able to get amongst the community. They're tracking well. (Montana) and (Katelyn) are still developing a lot of strength in the gym and balancing that with still some really good recovery, while (Shelby) returned to contact last week, which is a great progression for her and she'll be coming in more and more drills."

Amelia Peck (MCL)

"(She's) currently in a brace, she didn't have to have any surgery, which was great. She'll return to normal processes in her day-to-day brace. It is tracking well, she was also able to come away with us on the weekend. We'll get her strength up in the gym and hope that she'll continue to progress over the next couple of weeks."

How long have the sheila's been going now 6 or 7 years maybe. Still its almost  as horrid as it was when they started.
No offence to anyone who has a daughter or spouse playing at this level but its not a good standard.

Just too hard to watch.

Take note of the young draftees coming through, they are significantly more skilled then the other sport converts that initially made up much of the teams

Richmond v Hawthorn Preview

Last time they met: Richmond 6.5 (41) defeated Hawthorn 4.6 (30), round eight, 2023

Hawthorn was challenged last week, and it stood strong, proving that even when its own scoring isn't as free flowing as desired, it can stand up well defensively. In an ideal world, the Hawks want to quickly flick the ball around stoppage by hand, and then move to the space outside. They don't want to live in the contest, but understand its value as a launching point. As an added bonus to an already humming team, dangerous forward Greta Bodey is set to return from a toe injury after missing the last fortnight.

For Richmond, making it an aerial game is an important way to preserve control in the game. The Tigers are a reliable contested marking team, as well as the best mark inside 50 team in the League this year. They must use those weapons to keep the Hawks uncomfortable and out of the hands of their dangerous runners on the deck. The loss of Sarah Hosking as a pressure forward will hurt the Tigers, however, with her presence inside 50 an important aspect of their attacking game this year. Given Hawthorn's arsenal up forward, the idea of releasing someone like Beth Lynch out of defence is an unlikely one, but could be an option if things aren't going Richmond's way, given her ruthlessness and pressure.

Tip: The Hawks will secure the million-dollar prize. Hawthorn by 15 points.
