Pick 28?
« on: November 20, 2024, 10:16:08 PM »
What do now with pick 28?

Can we score another first rounder?

In doing so do will we trade down and take Sam Davidson?

Id take Shanahan. Although 3 talls in one draft would be odd. I rate him real highly.

Gross and Moraes other options. I reckon we will get a few offers who are keen on Shanahan. Crows, Pies, Dees, Cats, all would be keen on stocking up KP forward stocks. Maybe Lions now Joe has retired.

I guess now is the time to weigh up whether pick 28 will deliver us a better prospect than whatever is on offer from the draft pick we could get trade for. We’re now set for tall forward options so more quality mids and 2-way runners would be great.

I’d take Dodson , best Ruckman in the draft who has good hands and is a big possession winner, Shanahan would be just as good.
I hear that big offers are coming in for our final pick and Norths trade had set the benchmark , there are quite a few clubs trying to do the deal, so I suspect we will lose the pick.

We people keep talking about key forwards I think they're forgetting we have kid we drafted last year called Liam Fawcett

Over his back issues and training fully. Don't discount him

I agree re: Dodson.

But if someone is offering a top 5-10 pick for 2025 it's worth considering a trade.

Regardless, need to rookie a mature ruck badly.

I would sell P28 for 2 picks and grab a mid and ruck/key def. One more midfielder.

Agree 100%. He’s being forgotten.
Shows a bit as well

I like Fawcett, 2 this draft and one next draft gives us a lovely group of 4 to develop. The fact Shanahan is there, id take him at 28 and go hard for outside mids next year.

Turn him up, watch him pour on the pressure competing for spots
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

We actually have too many talls if healthy.

Gray, Fawcett, Kosi, Faull, Armstrong, Lefau, Lynch

Nah it's great. We can replicate structure in the VFL perfectly IMO

Well I don’t know about you but I’d rather Faulk, Fawcett and Armstrong getting full opportunity rather than losing some to Kosi, gray and even Ryan too
