And we have Prestia, Hopper and Taranto that can play that exact same role
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

True at this stage he is not the right fit, it’s all just speculation now , but a captain of club thats one of their best midfielders of his team for almost nothing is worth considering. Wrong age for our rebuild  but is he a better player than the bloke we recruited from Geelong ?

Ben Hobbs delisted ...

I was keen for us to draft him.

But after 65 games, a fair crack at it...he doesn't really look anywhere near it.

May have dodged a bullet here.

Reckon he is worth a look as a rookie pick up.

I just reckon there is alot of upside. Very good inside mid when he got the opportunity there

Fits in the age demographic we need.

I'm still a fan of the kid

It’s an extraordinary delisting.
Sounds like Crawski has got the job as list manager.

Not keen. 1 paced, 1 dimensional inside mid.

Me too, I think we took Gibcus at 9, what a chook raffle and yes dodged a bullet. esp I’d Gibcus comes good this year

Hobbs has been pigeon holed into the forward most of his career, I know he has 60 odd games under his belt but I still don’t feel like he’s had a decent run at it. I’m not sure we need another mid though, rookie pick or not. It’s a pass for me.

There were some who wanted Hobbs instead of Gibcus but Hobbs pace was always going to be an issue.

Despite his injuries Gibcus still has a high ceiling.

Ceiling looked good in 2022 when he played most of the year but tbh we've seen nothing for 3 years since. At this stage for me he's a bust and I don't think people should be talking about him replacing guys like Miller, Young etc because of said ceiling. Sure if the ceiling is reached and he stays fit that's fine, but at the moment he's a real 'maybe' for me. How long do you persist with a guy before you cut him? If he has an injury-riddled '26 he'll probably get the arse if he's OOC.

I haven't seen enough of them play, but with the sheer volume of injuries they had did Hobbs really not get enough midfield time?

Id take Hobbs as a rookie. I personally don't see a huge ceiling but as another Jack Ross, Jack Graham type on the last can't hurt
