It was atotal shambles

They said come early because they're was likely going to be delays but they refused to open the gates any earlier

At gate 1, they had one security barrier open to start with then after 20 minutes they decided to open a further 2

But then the checking of bags took in my case a other 10 minutes, not kidding. I had to take everything even a packet of tissues put of my backpack and then prove to them I had taken everything out. Tipped it upside down and then the woman said "are you sure it's epmty" 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 WTF

Then I had to repack everything as the queue of people waiting for bag checks behind me was getting irate.

But the best bit. I took my brother-in-law yesterday. He's special needs (mental impairment) the woman checking my bag said to me "he can move through". I said "sorry no he can't he needs to stay with me I'm his carer". She said "he can't stand there". I repeated about being his carer and he's special needs, she said again he has to move. I said NO. She called over the supervisor, who to her credit after i explained everythi g was switched on enough and said he could stay with me.

afl 300 metres long so i went over and used my club card
gate 1 300 metres long
gate 2 same
gate 4. not a single soul at 215pm

Why don’t they have the same security at shopping centres and other events , office building, are the people who go different people from those who go to the footy or are the unelected  media reacting solicitors just keeping true to form.

Some office buildings do have quite strong security measures in place. Having said that, there’s tons more office buildings and shopping centres than there are AFL grounds, the costs would be enormous.  Especially given that people aren’t charged an entry fee to help cover the expenses.

Could it be the AFL and the MCG are more concerned about reputational damage and liability         ( themselves)  than the safety and effect on people. No difference if a crime is inside or outside the MCG for most punters and as mentioned if you own a property you make the entry rules .

P.S. This will be a bar you're setting for this forum and like the umpires in AFL you'll have to adjudicate the same every time, without the need for the "spectator" to remind you. 
What's funny is how one doesn't have to be asked for you to judge when it's subjectively offensive to absolutely no one on this forum.
