Well that sums us too tonight. Going for a speckie in D50 and allowing a Dolphin at ground level to kick a goal :facepalm.

Totally selfish tonight  :banghead.

Too tall, too slow, Colina is liabilty, dropping Yassine was idiotic. :banghead

Just a terrible performance

Bruise free footy all night

Very little defensive pressure all night

Our forward set up was laughable, all flying for Marks of the Year. None of them prepared to actually lead.

I don’t wanna jump the gun, but I have been a little worried about smillie. Pre draft I wasn’t excited to take him, then I got excited thinking about what he could become, then I’ve watched his vfl games and I’m just not sure if he’s got “it”. Time will tell though !

Can Sonsie just have 3-4 games playing in the midfield in the afl, like being in the centre square. If he doesn’t impress or show similar form to what he is producing at vfl then by all means drop him back to the 2s.

It’s just so disingenuous to see a player dominating at vfl level as a pure mid, call him up to the seniors, shunt him in the forward pocket or half forward flank and then drop him 1-2 weeks later when surprise surprise he isn’t getting the ball.

My only concern with Sonsie is his physical strength.  He has the skills & tricks to be elite, seems to be fit enough to run all day ... But I never see him burst through tackles or rag doll his opponents.  It makes me doubt his actual level of physical strength, not his bravery or dare, but his raw power to play against the big guys - to play like a man!
I think this is why he gets sheltered in a forward pocket - his coaches don't want to expose his lack of physical strength by putting him in the middle.  The list of midfield brutes who would utterly rag doll Sonsie is a little too long.  He could hold his own against a similar build (boys vs boys in the VFL) but would get monstered by the Cripps & Dangerfields out there.
Is that what sentances him to a forward pocket?
It is fixable, so let's go!  Lets put up some signage with some big arrows to show the way to the gym ...
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

To me size is of very little significance , not saying it can’t help, but as far I’m concerned you could be six inches tall and weigh 1kg , you can either get the ball
Or you can’t . Some can adjust at the higher level many cant

Play the kid on-ball. Or, pee off short and make him the back half distributor!
