Looks like it's back to Ben Miller which is unfortunate

Surely Trainor comes in ??

Surely he was only having a spell to give his body a bit of a rest

Agree with you , surely isn’t out on form

The game won't be won or lost with Balta out (although it hurts), Melbourne lack big forwards so match Gawn and win the midfield contest where a show

Coach said in his post match presser, Trainor was the sub to basically manage him and give his a body a rest

OUTS: Ryan, Green (unlucky)

INS: Fawcett, Mansell

Based on Sims' game against Frankston, he doesn't deserve a call up

Updated:

OUTS: Ryan, Balta, Green (unlucky)

INS: Blight, Mansell, Gray

Apologies to Fawcett, would love him back in but not sure he can play 2nd ruck. Blight can

Mansell is no A grader and he has missed four weeks. A game in the two's wont hurt him.
The kid Green should stay in the team he did what Mansell is there for pressure and he did it well as did Rioli. We need a classy goal kicker to compliment those two so its Algar time for me.
We know Mansell will come in though i just hope we don't drop either Green or Rioli to allow it to happen.

Blight for Ryan should be a no Brainer. Third tall and  Nankervis chop out and he offers up great flexability if we need it by being able to go back.

Campbell Gray continues to play well and should get Balta's spot. again its time and we need to continue to play our youngsters at every opportunity.
Trainer has to be bought straight back in he needed a rest sore young body i assume. He has been one of our best defenders imo and we need to continue his development in the seniors.

I still think our flanks and wings are a real liability Time to move Campbell to a wing. Its also time to give Smith a hb flank and a DECENT GO. NO MORE SUB ROLES FFS.

Sonsie really should get his chance in the midfield even though i think he lacks in several areas for the role at AFL level.

Would love to pick Smillie as well but selection integrity yes selection integrity a reason why i think Mansell needs to find form in the two's so should Smillie put some good games together there.

To accomodate these changes we need to actually drop some older players.

Ross has not had a good game sinse round 1.
Imo McIntosh is literally taking games of kids and is not a mids hole
Short has been shizen for two and half years and im being generous. Just try Smith or Trezise there even Banks. Time to move on from old scaredy pants.
Ryan injured and going by his game id say we have dodged a bullet  for a few weeks at least.
Balta well he continues to pay a price for being dumb.

People come from the angle of we need those older blokes and the team is worse off without them. I disagree whole heartedly.Balta will be missed but his absence provides opportunity for a young player going well in the two,s isnt that what its all about.

Algar has far better attributes than Mansell and brings something we lack. Mansell has not played for 4 weeks and should have to come back thru the two's.  Green did enough to keep his spot as did Rioli.

Smith has attributes Short can only dream of i firmly believe a good and proper run at seniors will see him develop nicely over the year.
At the least he won't panic and play scared.

McAuliffe over both Ross and McIntosh another we need to just put games into. Again he brings something all of our mids lack, pace, size aggression and can get on the outside. it really should be a no brainer. He just needs a free run at it from all the niggles.

Sonsie 35 disposals in three quarters. It is time to give him his midfield shot at the level it means again one of Ross who has been poor or McIntosh who is no mid give way.

Even with the 5 changes the side does have plenty of older heads so we are not leaving the team bereft of leadership.

Gray debut is well deserved.

The silver lining to the Balta fiasco.
