Richmond needs a stop-gap key forward

The Tigers' frailty in attack was exposed against Essendon on Friday night in the absence of Tom Lynch. The injury-prone veteran missed through concussion, and while he hasn't been hitting the scoreboard too much of late, the target he provides and the pressure he takes off draftees Jonny Faull and Tom Sims has been vital. Fellow teenager Luke Trainor was trialled up forward in Lynch's absence on Friday night, but the Tigers managed just eight goals for the game. Lynch will be 33 at the end of the year and with Richmond's extreme youth in attack around him, it may be worthwhile for the Tigers to target a mid-20s key forward to fill the gap

lol, we may have enough key forward who just need games. Whilst we are trying to win games I believe the club is investing in development first and that’s not by having a list clogger taking games off the 18 year olds.

I hope Mykelti can be that stop gap forward until the likes of Faul and Armstrong are ready to steer the ship .

Yep absolutely, should be fine.

Lynch 1 more year.

Lefau until they're ready.

There's only one solution:

Dont we have a couple of stop gap mid twenty mature tall forwards in Kossie and Blight. Failing that Gray.

Welcome back (brushes dust off)

Surely Kossie will get booted this year.

Gray and Blight I reckon will stay on.

I think your right about Gray and Blight but i would not be surprised if a club asks about one of them or Miller. That still leaves Young. I think we would look at a trade if clubs came sniffing around.

Its all about numbers and who leads the pecking order. We have plenty of numbers but the pecking order for me would be Balta, Gibcus, Trainor and Gray. It would be a good way to get back into the draft and help balance the list out a bit.

Kossie is contracted until end of  2026 i believe. I also think with no Lynch there it would not have hurt to play Kossie with Faull and Sims last week . Failing that Blight with them.

Last one unlike most here i think we have a plethora of talls and we cant play em all. When Lefau is fit to play seniors id be playing him thru the midfield and forward. Not as if he can't play there he has for us in the vfl already and we draftd him mostly  on the back of it
