* Wasn't something Yze sensed before the game and we started the game well in the first quarter.

* Middle part of game they dominated. Things we tried didn't work. Second and Third Quarters were not up to AFL standard.

* Last quarter we responded. At least evened up the contest and inside 50s.

* Always said there might be pain along the way. Second quarter was arguably the worst we've played all year. Our contest and defence we're all out of whack.

* Disappointing to go into the Bye on that note after a promising month. Let our supporters down today.

* Mansell - corky. Subbed him off early just to protect him.

I haven’t watched an Yze presser this year for this reason

Find him unwatchable

Weird thing to say I know but pleased to see him clearly peeved with the performance

Didn't sugar coat it, hearing the words unacceptable not AFL standard, let our supporters down are things 12 months ago he wouldn't have said

Willy, that’s an extremely low baseline to be pleased.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Probably but let's be totally honest here

Last year it would have been "can't question their effort", "they never gave up", ""proud of them"... after pitiful efforts like yesterday we're not hearing that

Yze is growing into the role. It's very clear to see.

And people bagging him for not being a natural speaker is a bit pee weak as well.

He's doing his best and so far I'm pleased with his growth as a senior coach.

Bit pee weak is it

I’m allowed to point out my opinion .. I find him unwatchable
I read his pressers due to the way he speaks in pressers

It isn’t bagging him .. it’s an opinion and a personal choice

You might like watching him .. your choice

Tigers 'not up to AFL standard'

Adem Yze says parts of Richmond's performance against Sydney was the worst they have played all season

RICHMOND "wasn't up to AFL standard" throughout parts of its 44-point loss to Sydney on Saturday afternoon, according to head coach Adem Yze.

Where the Tigers got off to a strong start, winning the inside 50 count 14-10 in the first quarter off the back of contest and pressure, it fell away dramatically through the second and third terms.

It allowed Sydney to pile on 10 consecutive goals, and kept the Tigers to just one major after the first break – coming in the fourth quarter.

"It wasn't something I sensed before the game, because we started the game really well. So yeah, really, really disappointing… (Sydney) dominated clearance, dominated time in forward half, dominated inside 50s, and the things we tried just kind of didn't work," Yze said post-match.

With a young side, still establishing its connection as a group, there is sometimes a sense of inevitability around the odd poor showing. Richmond had six players with 20 or fewer games to their name on the park. But it's not something Yze wants to concede.

"We hope it's not inevitable, but we know that there might be some pain along the way. And I've said it all along, it might not be pain in certain games, but it might be in quarters, like the second quarter, I don't think we've played any worse for the year," Yze said.

Heading into the bye, Yze was reluctant to risk further injury to dynamic young forward Rhyan Mansell, who copped a cork in the second quarter which forced him to be subbed out early in the third.

You don't have to like the way he speaks but it's pee weak to bag him for it.

You can do this by just observing that he's not a great speaker.

We're not all born with the gift of the gab.

Bit of respect for our senior coach wouldn't go astray.

Lmao -respect for what,  the outdated bruise free Melbourne gameplan? The  unimaginative & unchanging midfield set up? The "selection integrity" (has he dropped an underperforming senior player yet?)  Needs to be Postecogluo'd. :shh

He has my respect for inheriting a car crash that Dimma seen coming and chose not see out and then achieving results that most of us probably think have surpassed our expectations this season.
